Hello, after having my 2008 Buell xb12scg in storage for a couple of years I finally got it back out. I got a cable for emcspy and signed up so I could purchase EMCSPY for 2008 models. But for over two months i have not received my code to download the program and numerous e-mails to the webmaster have gone unanswered.

I thought the timing was good because Spec-ops just started up his operation again. So I already mailed off my exhaust and ordered a heat blanket.

But now I am concerned. After reading about ecm's I felt somewhat comfortable trying ECMSPY but with no replies I cant get the program. I think tuner pro sounds like it may be beyond my abilities. Is tuner pro my only other option, other than buying an EBR ecm, at this point?

I am in Indianapolis if anyone knows of some buell tuners here they can put me in contact with.

Thanks

If tunerpro rt is going to be too complicated to learn how to use, then I suggest you dont tune at all, knowing what youre actually doing and changing, as well as having the right tuning equipment, is twice as difficult as the program.

With enough research, I say go for it, but dont let the software be the limiter, thats the easiest part about tuning.

I bought ecmspy mono about two months ago. As I recall, I downloaded a demo version. Then, I made a donation ($75 to a charity they describe on their web-site) and once that was confirmed, within less than a day, I was given access to the 'full' database that turned my demo version of the program into the full-up version.

You have to Register, then you can download the demo. If you want the full-up version, you have to Activate the program. The instructions for these things are on their site, under these headings, i.e., Registration and Activation. After Activation you'll receive permission to download the full database.

Did you make the donation and then not receive the full database? Or are you still trying to download the demo after registering?

Alan

^^^^^ good post alan. that is exactly how the site works for 08 and up models. tuner-pro rt also beyond my capabilities. i find that ecm spy for trouble-shooting and other assorted simple tasks is well worth the $75 donation. but again i'm no "tuner" nor do i care to be so ecm spy works fills my basic needs.

Yes Alan, I read their directions in detail months ago, in order to download the demo version it says I need to register. I did, but never received an activation code, reply, anything. I then tried to re-register and it says my e-mail address is already registered. For two months I have been waiting and emailing the administrator with no replies from them. I was curious if anyone knew if their site was no longer working. But apparently you had success with it. I guess I can get another e-mail address and try again. And I totaly agree with paying the money for a good and easy to use program, thats why I wanted EMCSPY.
But is this an indicator of their lack of customer support?
Thanks for the replies.

Update:
making some progress, used a new e-mail address and got the demo version, computer talks to my 08 ecm and now have info needed to get activation.

I also have an 98-99 X1 that I would like to tune someday. On the activation donation page it says you can select the number of types of ecm's you want to activate. I have read where some people say you can only tune one ecm per ecmspy. This seems to be different from what ecmspys site says.

Has anyone used the ecmspy version 2 on two different types of buell ecm's successfully?

This seems to be different from what ecmspys site says.
Und welche Aussage wird dann wohl die zutreffende sein? Was genau ist an
The activation is fee-based and the license fee is dependent on the number of ECM types, that will be supported by the software.
nicht verständlich?

Another update:
Could not get ecmspy version 2 to talk to my 99 x1. So my new question before I download version 1 is has anyone been able to run ecmspy version 1 and version 2 on the same computer without one version messing with the other version?

I have ran ECMSpy for Mono v2.xx.x, ECMSpy v1.12.2x, and Tunerpro RT all on the same Windows 7 32-bit OS with no conflicts. I have not had ECMSpy for Mono v1.xx and v2.xx installed at the same time, if that's what you meant.
