My XB12r has still been vibrating like crazy at certain times when I brake in first gear.

I don't know what it is, other than that it could bee the isolator. I have cleaned the front rotor off real well, fyi...

can anyone tell if the isolator is shot? and if so, how much does a replacement cost?

I just removed my frame and noticed the insulator rubber in my bike looks terrible. Im guessing when in doubt... change it out. It shouldnt vibrate.

i'm thinking your's is shot. here's a pic. of mine, looks like yours has dropped quite a bit[smirk]

Could it be as simple as a loose triple tree?

Try losening the bottom bolts holding the fork tubes, then losen the set screw the key (I think it's facing out towards your throttle) then try tightening the neck bolt.

The previous owner of my bike must have been doing wheelies non stop, because mine was wicked loose.

After tightening it is awesome.

Thanks guys...def looks like i gotta change it.

How much work is involved with it, am I better off bringing it to a shop? what kind of lifting/ stands do I need?

I like to work on my bike, but my rents hate it haha. I'm still trying to convince them to give me one of the FOUR garages the rent out to people that put useless **** in them!!![mad][mad][mad]

It is an easy swap, just put a jack under your bike to help hold the engine and it should only take a couple minutes.

I called a dealer and they say i need to buy thew whole assembly kit...is this true, or can i just buy the rubber?
