Ya, after 3 other rides with friends, one going down everytime. Today was the day i went down.

As i was riding (roads were wet) i was following my friend in his 1198 and we were going hard. There was 6 of us, 4 going hard and two just going their own pace. I was feeling good on everything but my right turns and we were cooking. Came down a hill to fast, turned, slowed down, turned some more, couldnt commit soon enough so i straightened her back up (all while slowing down) and went into the ditch, continued to slow down and was going faster then i thought. Well it slightly bucked me off but i was able to slow down enough to where when i laid it over it only slid about 4 feet total.

Damage-
turn sig broke off.
right side scoop broke off
helmet lock BROKE OFF (mounting holes included)
Handle bar bent. (triple tree fine)
Header wrap got ripped. (headers fine)

Other then that the plastics need buffing and the rear swing arm needs one too. I have a tiny scratch by my puck.

Thats all. Wearing gear so im fine, my jacket actually scuffed my arm cause its to lose. (im so tall and skinny i cant get a jacket to fit perfect). and my thumb hurts.

The turn sig ill buy again (had aftermarket ones)

Do any of you have a RSS?
Mainly a handle bar tho.

Ill get pics up later. And the video :) As long as everyone promises not to critique it. Yes i know my lines at first are terrible and thats because i was setting in and also the roads were still wet in some spots. Everyone goes down. And ya i more then likely would have been able to make the turn but it was my right hand and i wasnt feeling it, so id rather go straight off while slowing then go off the road sideways. :) Everything is a learning exp and i had fun.

Pics or it didn't happen! Glad you're ok. Sometimes it's hard to commit when you're questioning traction. Going off the road hardly ever works. I know because I've done the same. If you doubt you're gonna make it, "just say to yourself, "Make the turn! Make the turn! Make the turn!" until you make it.

Note to readers: if you're going to ride with a group that has had somebody crash each time, you might want to rethink your riding buddy paradigm.

It really isn't a matter of taking turns crashing.

This could've been a lot worse, involving other good friends.

I'm glad it wasn't anything more than it was.

Loki...it happens to the best of us too.
this is how my bike looked after going down rockpile rd at 70 mph in santa rosa

as long as you learned what went wrong and make sure you don't do it again then it's all good
the lesson i learned was
take a lap down a road that you don't know and don't trust motherf--kers that say they know the road because they might be full of sh-t, then you might end up on a fire road

fu-k that little engine that could bullsh-t
If you doubt you're gonna make it, "just say to yourself, "Make the turn! Make the turn! Make the turn!" until you make it.
"LOOK" where you want to go. and the bike will follow.

Should have kept it down on the right turn instead of trying to straighten it out and up. If I'm understanding it correctly by trying to "not" lean more right and apply throttle you went up and wide.

I just sold a brand new one on here a couple days ago!! I would have just given it to you! I do have a **** load of turn signals if you want any.

Lol its not like that. We dont always go balls to the wall and crash cause we have no exp. Only on one ride an actual friend went down, and thats because he was trying to keep up with me and another friend while he had a passenger.

The other rider wanted to learn how to lean more in the turns so we were taking it slow letting him follow our lines and he was doing good, then he seen gravel on the side of the road, panicked, grabed break, went into the ditch.

The last guy we invited and met that day. Dude talked himself up real big and showed off in the straights through town. But would go slower then the suggested speed in the turns and went straight off of one going 15mph. Guy was not made for turns.

So two riders just werent expiernced enough, and its not like they were trying to go all in or anything. Its all about learning, we all go down or will.

Watching the video i can say that i coulda made it if i felt comfortable in the turn but i didnt. Just didnt sit right with me thinking if i come out to wide and lose traction and slide sideways and maybe even hit this sign in front. All in all im not mad or even bummed about it. **** happens and it couldve been worse. This is just more bonding time with my buell, as long as shes not mad at me. ;)

Heres a picture of everyones bike that day. Just got done riding the really wet road. The road we are on now was barely wet.

Word of advice to anyone looking for new tires

Basic pirelli diablo tires SUCK in the rain! Terrible! Slide out 4 times in my turns beforehand.
