I've been fumbling around for the last 45 minutes trying to properly mount the right drivers side foot peg and spring( on the rear brake side) but can't seem to get it. Anybody get any magic tricks to make this work
Cheers,
Warren

Use a tapered punch or a phillips screw driver (from the bottom) to line up all the bits, THEN push the pin into the top, forcing the punch out.
Install NEW e-clip and have a beer.

Yea well that's what I've been trying to do but keeping everything in place while overcoming the spring pressure isn't going well

Use a screwdriver, (or an allen wrench, or a drill bit) that is almost the same thickness as the pin. Seriously, if you can't get this to work, you're probably best off putting away the tools and buying something new.

Thats what the tapered punch is for, it lines everything up without the need to overcome any spring pressure at all. The beer is for AFTER, not before! Lol. Unless you are a professional, like me (and a j3rk):black_eyed:

Hmm

I don't remember it being that hard when I installed my LSL Footpegs.
I think I used a flat head screw driver, but that was so long ago.

Well, 'm 80, I've been fooling around with motorcycles and race cars for at least 50 of those years and I've installed many foot pegs and springs in that time. The reason I'm fooling with these is that I'm replacing the aftermarket pegs and linkage with the oem ones and I've come to the concluson that these springs are for the aftermarket pegs so I'm ordering ne springs to go with the oem pegs. If that doesn't work them I'll sell my toolbax and tools and get a generic asian utensil to drive around
Cheers,
Warren

Aftermarket foot pegs are typically meant to use the OE springs. Are you attempting to put the spring in upside down or Right/Left swapped? That would be a bear to install.

Like 34:19 on date night. I hate it when easy ones fight back.

Sorry that came off a bit harsh. This is a very simple thing to do, so something must be wrong. Its a bit of a trick to do without the screwdriver/drill bit/allen wrench in place, and just pushing the pin in by itself.

Line up and position everything with the screwdriver/punch/drill bit/allen in place (from the bottom). One hand on the screwdriver and the other on the peg manuevering the assembly around to line it all up with the hole. You may want to put slight pressure on the screwdriver or whatever, tp help guide/line everything up. When you get the screwdriver through, then use the pin, to push the screwdriver back out. Its easier if you use a screwdriver (or whatever) that is almost the same thickness of the pin.
