I also think speed and strength makes some of the best summer gloves ever. At the local buell bike night I let guys try on my gloves and then a bunch of those guys came and bought the same pair.

I don't really recommend the S and S helmets. They are good helmets, but for the price there are higher quality lids out there.

Can't go wrong with alpinestars. I'm rocking a cortech impulse ii right now and I'm really digging it. since price is an issue just go the craigslist route

Dainese air-flux for summer riding is hard to beat . It fits like a glove flows tons of air. has great protection to shoulders, and elbows. you also have the option to add a back protection. it also looks cool! for about 200

I'm still undecided about whether I like the patches... but I really like the rest of the design.
