Been 2 to 3 monthes since I've checked the pressure in my tires. Both bikes needed 5-6 pounds of air in all the tires. I was suprized at my own neglect. I'm always out messin with both those bikes and did'nt check the simplest of things.

Interesting this comes up now.:D

Last week I took a slow right hander at 30 mph with a good dip about 3/4 through. Felt like an old shovelhead with bad swingarm bearings. I check the pressures - 21 front, 24 rear.

Yep, check the tire pressures. It's like getting a new bike.

good call! or you will end up with tires like mine (see chicken strip thread) lol

Thanks thats one thing I think everyone takes for granted. Mine were down 8 to 10 psi. Thanks for reminder:D

DustyXB, I run mine at about 30psi front and rear. Anymore seems a little squirrly for me but I am not an aggressive rider. My 09 xb12 owners manual reccomends front 34front 36rear on all models.

after my wreck last year I checked my pressure and it was 21 front and 24 rear. im 90% sure thats the reason the rear tire slid out on me. so now I check it once a week and its still down 1 or 2 psi.

it's funny today i decided to ride my softtail which i have not rode in about 5-6 months and i only had about 10psi in the rear and 20psi in the front.
Where does everyone run thiers at? I usually run around 38-40psi.

i run mine at 38psi cold so when they warm up they get to about 41-43psi

36, front, 38 rear...'03 xb9s manual, don't quote me on that, it's been almost a year since I've been through the manual and not being at home, but it's checked weekly on my maintenance schedule, air compressor and chuck at the ready:D
