I'm one of a few on this website that isn't mechanically minded and more challenged. Doing just a simple mod can be a bit nerve racking due to the lack of basic experience.
This is mainly to the moderators of this site but i wanted to throw this out there to the rest of the group.
How about a video section on this site on just basic mods like suspension set ups, rebreather routing, airbox, etc.
Reason i bring this up is there was a small video clip on a finished rebreather which was pretty good ( can't remember the guy who did it-sorry) but it made a little more sense to all the written instructions that people have put on this site. The bit that was a little worrying for me was the removal and installation of the airbox base plate and dealing with the stack sealer and not damaging the IAT connection.
I would like to do more with my bike and i'm sure there are others out there that would too, plus i just had my 10k done and it cost me $804 and $77 of that was just basic parts.
I understand that watching a video of someone doing a mod and following it is your decision and the website would not be held liable but like i said it's just an idea and curious to see what others thought.

I think that is a great Idea, but the thing is that it would be up to an individual to make the video or not, they put a section up all they like, it's up to we the people to make it or break it. From what I've seen on here already with mods and how friendly everyone is on here it would more than likely be a great hit in that everyone here is helpful and all about making DIY mods and regular services as simple as possible.

this is a great idea. just simple service would be worth doing it. from oil changes to custom setting suspension componets, most things do not take special tools to preform. who knows the tricks and tips of these awsome machines?

I should have added that if anyone that is comfortable with their skill level and don't mind videoing what they are doing, that would be great.
Putting it on the site i'm not sure of how to do it other than up load it to youtube and linking it or some way of uploading your video like the pictures.

good idea...but i can't make a video of everyone's diy post.

now, with the people we have on here and if they have the filming equipment, which is almost on every cellphone available, it should not be a huge challenge to do this.

I agree 100%. You all know from my username that im not a mechanical person at all but love my bike and want to upgrade. Seeing someone else do the main. RIGHT would be a huge advantage for me. GREAT IDEA

That does sound like a great idea, though I've had no trouble with the mods listed on here just in type. But I could see how that'd be a valuable asset to some.
