Super stoked on these bikes, been drooling over them for a while. My triumph threw a rod out of the case and left me with no mode of transportation, until now :). So the bike has 44,000 miles on it, body and everything else seems to be in perfect shape. What do I need to look out for with this bike? There's already an electric gremlin with the turn signals, but I read here that it's pretty common. Any areas of wire chafing that are known to cause issues I should look out for?

Congratulations on the bike! Any pictures?

While I've had a Blast for years, I just got a 2009 XB12r as well this June....what a beast.

image.jpgPicking it up today after work, definitely will be posting pics! I've never been more excited about buying something before!

So yeah, this thing is awesome! The battery that came with it isn't though. I have a shorai battery that I can put in it though. What's the charging amps on these bikes?

Yeah I had some buddies from SpaceX throw some goodies on it ;)!

Haha I don't know why it posted like that, oh well. Seriously hoping that I just have a ****ty battery though. Bought this bike to be a daily driver not a project! Does have a 3 year warranty though, so I guess I can't conplain yet.

The only thing tempting me to get the shorai is it weighs 3 pounds vs 14 on the big crank. Shorai also has a better warranty. Anyone have any luck with the shorai? I've had them in all of my other bikes and they crank hard and last forever.

I have shorai in my Uly, Firebolt, and 1125r. I couldn't be more pleased with their performance. However before I went with the lithium bat I would order from batterymart.com and they are a great cost efficient alternative.

I don't think those pics are upside down.....my bolts will actually stick that well.....lol. seriously though, congrats and welcome to the club. These guys around here know EXACTLY what they are talking about when it comes to these bikes. Enjoy man

Thanks all! Love these forums. Well I went with the shorai, got home and the volts on it dropped to 11.5v and the bike was stuttering a bit at idle. Crossing my fingers that I picked up a partially charged battery. I know I should have spent to time and check the charging system first, I'm just in a rush to ride it haha. I'll have my buddy from work come look at all of the wiring and check the amps and voltage from the stator. What else should I be looking for? And known areas of voltage drains?
