well just picked up an 03 xb9r 3 days ago and love it, ive been riding cbrs for the last 5 years, but always thought these looked cool, it has a jardine pipe, everything else seems stock, it has a few scratches but overall is a clean bike, it has 20,000 miles, not sure how much power its supposed to have but feels good sofar, the throttle response is good when the bike first starts and is cold it revs fast and drops back to 1000 rpm very quickly, but when its been ridden for a couple of minutes it backfires alot when engine braking and when reved the rpms drop very slow like they hang for a while, is this common or do i have a problem, thanks for any advise in advance

Congrats on the purchase... You might want to do the jardine fix Gatorbuell recently graced us with knowledge on. and maybe change to a race map... you will find more than enough knowledge on this site to help with any problems.

I dont know first hand, but I had heard that Jardines do pop ALOT especially during engine braking.

Welcome to the Fam!

wow this forum is nice, lots of usefull info and replies are fast, im on srtforums because of my car and was getting tired of dealing with that forum. actually the bike is white and im missing the chin fairing for it, currently looking for a used one in carbon fiber or white, need to replace my forkseals, would changing to a k&n airfilter bo ok or do i need a tuner, i just want to be able to clean it

Welcome to the Forum and the Buell family. Get started on ECMSpy like this thread and you'll be well on your way. The K&N will just make the bike leaner than what it already is, though some run them anyways. Be better to get a Race EEPROM on your bike and then look to the K&N.
