Just built myself a motorcycle dolly for winter storage.
So far it works great! I still need to get myself a front stand to keep the tires off the ground. Now i can lift it off the ground and still roll it around if i need to. I can keep it against the wall but also pull it out to work on it over the winter. Ill probably build another for my dads Harley since he keeps it in my heated garage for the winter. Im going to put a little storage under it with some metal put out draws i have to store parts when im working on it and cover the top with a indoor/outdoor carpet.

For the wheels I used the car dollys from harbor freight. Got 6 of of them for free. We bought them for work to move a machine and then had no use for them
..lol. a set of 2 are on sale now for $49 plus 20% coupon. Then a sheet of 3/4 ply from HD for $25... which will do two... plus 3 2x4... and a scrap pieces of 2x12s....

So total cost me me was $40 for 2

Hey, that's sweet.. great idea! ..got any plans to finish the bare wood? ..it might look good wrapped in dark grey indoor/outdoor carpet, H-Depot sells it by the foot pretty cheap. & maybe a coupla' eyes for tie-downs, straight down & out from the bars for extra tip-over security?

DAMN!! your bike is sweet. that is the most badass X1 i've ever seen & clean too. like the xb wheels also[up]. i think we need a few more details on your bike. oh, killed bike stand:D

mate. nice idea there.

and i gotta say again... damn that combination of xb and tuber is awesome!

Coolest X1 ever.... But I must say, one thing would make it 100% complete. I'm not sure who it was, but another member on here made his own seat subframe. That subframe on this bike would make the coolest looking buell ever.

Yeah, NWrider(michael) built a cool tube subframe this summer.. a search should bring up his pics. I think he was planning on building a few to sell, also.. Thats definitely a beautiful X1, pur pony.. your stock sub frame is subdued nicely, being dark blue... but you might consider what michael created, as the stock piece lacks "graceful" flow & is a bit chunky, IMHO..

Your bike and Michaels makes me like X1's all over again!

Edit post: aw heck.. it looks like you already know about his bike! my bad..

Nice work pur!! Starting to get cold here in MO. Time start my project and blowing up ur pm box:D[up]

ya, its been pretty cold here in the morning and evening rides to and from work. I have almost an hr ride one way and the temps have been in the mid 30's but not time to put it away just yet! Wired up my heated helmet and put the hand guards on.
