just changed fouled plugs, weird idle

So it just holds the injectors open longer than the ECM will. Who knows what that did to your AFV. Likely the ECM was pulling as much fuel as possible since this was keeping the injectors open. Now that it's gone, the ECM is still running with a pulled-back AFV and you're experiencing the lean conditions associated with it.

I'd flash a stock EEPROM and perform a TPS reset. Then if you have the means, do some datalogging and MegaLog Analyzer to get it closer for the int/exh.

guys.....i think i cross threaded the rear spark plugs.

lemme rephrase that

i definitely cross threaded the rear spark plugs

in case anyone is curious, this is how i fixed the cross threaded spark plug

since the cross threading was about half way down into the cylinder head, i grinded away the bottom threads off the spark plug, which allowed half the spark plug to just slip into the head and then the threads from the top end of the spark plug proceeded to screw into the cross threaded cylinder head. allowing the spark plug to seat onto the engine properly with the correct amount of gap.

bikes runs just like it used to

im a genius, i know

Good to hear the problem was "fixed". It should be fine as long as the plug doesn't get stuck in there from the gap created when you ground down the bottom half of the plug. If you every need to pull the head though I would definitely fix the threads. That being said I'm pretty impressed with your creativity [up]

Neat trick for getting spark plugs out and started correctly.

I've found a ~8in piece of 3/8 fuel hose works great. After I loosen the plug, push the hose over the end of the plug to finish unscrewing and pull the plug out. Just push the hose over the end of the new plug and use it to get the plug in place and threaded in finger tight.(don't forget to do a final torque with a wrench) Makes getting old plugs out very easy and it's almost impossible to cross thread a plug this way.

awesome suggestion with the hose, ill definitely do that next time. my hands are pretty big so that rear spark plug wasn't easy to get access to.

anyways, thanks for all the suggestions, and clue to assist me in figuring out my problem. greatly appreciated!

see you guys around (on other threads)
