i agree they are nice bikes but i can think 10-15 bikes that i would rather have for 19k and less

Yeah, but im sure all the new EBR dealers will give great trade in value on XB's!
Ok I started laughing before I typed half of that! :p

Agreed; it's been easy to dream about owning an RX up until now because they weren't actually available, but now that it's time to start getting the wallet out, the RX is a tough sell...

Dean you gonna bring it to the dragon vii?

Looks good, how are you liking it?

If I get the chance to go, yes. It may still be in stock trim, I keep getting more exhaust orders for XB's and 1125's.

Only put about 75 miles on it today, overall it's pretty good I'd say. Better (more) power, suspension is better by quite a bit. It was a little loud the first trip out, so I went home and checked the oil. 2/3 to 3/4 of a quart of oil later and it quieted down a bit more. Stock, it's very quiet for the displacement, quieter than the 1125 was in all stock trim.

I'm happy with it so far and don't see any reason why I'll change my mind unless it blows up or something weird.

lol, ducati isnt even an option IMHO, bad electrics, expensive servicing and tuning...

+1
Ducatis are dead sexy but you pay dearly for it in the form of high maintenance cost and questionable reliability.
They are the motorcycle equivalent of a trophy wife.

I've had several riding buddies over the years on Ducs, and I've seen it first hand...

I don't know, I have 7,000 miles on my Ducati Diavel now and haven't had a single problem.

About as comfortable to ride as a trophy wife, have you been on a panigale? That damn shock res stabs your leg if you're at a stop. The EBR definitely has more useability as a street bike.

[up] This is exactly what led me to the world of Buells a few years ago!

I was more referring to the fact that their great to look at but the headaches of high maintenence of extreme costs makes you wonder if its worth the hassle. :D

I would sure hope a $17000+ bike would be able to go 7000mi w/o problems. Let us know how it's fairing in another 50k.

It's like you're describing an 1125. That is what you're doing, right?
If I had to cross the US tomorrow on a used bike of unknown history, and my only 2 choices were an 1125 or an equilvelent Duc (streetfighter maybe?) I'd be hopping on the Buell.
The 1125 definitely had it's issues, but a 2 year production run is hardley enough to call it 'unreliable'. It was still a work in progress when Harley slammed the door in Buell's face.
How many years has Ducati been building bikes now? How many well-known issues do they have? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I rode my friends 1199 and it didnt impress me at all, I prefered my CR in terms of overall betterness. Though I didnt get to lean the duc.
