Kick Stand bolts almost lost one

Went to stop for lunch today and put the kick stand down go to get off and the bike keeps going. Luckily i was able to keep her from fallen to the ground but it was a close one.

Get home but her up on the rear stands and look at the the kick stand and come to find out the two bolts holding the kick stand have back them self out on almost completly out and the other was about 1/4 of an inch

Got it all tightened back up but still i figured they would have loctited those from the factory

good save! glad your bike didn't go down. i will definitely have to keep an eye on those. seems like these bikes will rattle just about every bolt loose. even with loctite!

Happened to me & one of the bolts snapped off.
Bugger to fix. Now I check it more regularly .

Yeah and the sad thing is it didnt even seem like it was loose till it was to late

Happened to me same thing out riding all day multiple stops get home go to hop off to open the garage door and bike keeps leaning.
I'm like WTF. I know banner
in the way but can see what
I'm talking about.

Happened to me last year,one would have fallen out completly if not for the muffler, the other was about halfway out. Had the pipe off yesterday for painting so I drilled and saftey wired the stand bolts. Jeeze, and I thought I was done with saftey wire when I quit racing 2 strokes!! Wayne

depending on what year bike you ride, I believe there was a recall on the kickstands. anyone, if I am wrong please correct me.

Yeah, the '04-Earlier had the old Kickstand components. They were upgraded for the '05-newer bikes.

yeah mine is an 09 with just under 5000 miles on it
and looked similar to strmvt only the bolt was out farther

I have had the dealership tighten these bolts at least 3 or four times. I have almost dropped my bike because the bolts are so loose. The only think keeping me from loosing the kickstand all together was the exhaust.
