Hello all sorry i have been away since i was in to my last 04 XB12R.. well i sold that one to my best friend this past month.. I made a trip to Washington with my 05 R-1 and we were riding hell yeah and bam R-1 issues.. so start looking on Craigs list for Buells and the Heavens parted and Buells fell from heaven..

So after some calling and all that i find a 07 XB12ss in Portland.. the dealer claims its "Longer" then a standard lightning, the color scheme is diff aswell.. its Orange and Black.. Pics will soon follow..

Anyrate.. go check it out.. Bamn get the Buell.. looks great, sounds great..

We go for a ride and open her up and man i just love these massive beasts.. We stop and my buddys XB12r's fans going and mines not.. umm ok well continue on.. We get home and still the fans not on.. so u pop the seat and find the Fuse is popped.. so I change it and it still dosent turn on..

So i get a flash light and peak at the fan... Well... that fan is covered in Oil and shit.. soooo.. what do i do??

There is also a weird servo looking device on the top of the air box that at one point had a cable attached the opened and or controlled it.. well the cable isnt attached and is missing.. what is this thing?

So i have a XB12ss 2007..

Known Issues:
Blown fan fuse
Dirty oily fan
Air box Servo looking device with missing cable..

Thanks for any help..

The servo normally actuates the AMC valve in the exhaust. You either have an aftermarket exhaust where the valve is no longer in place, or the valve may have been pinned open. The cable from the servo to the valve, in that case, is no longer needed. The servo as a whole, however, may have been left plugged in to prevent a code from being thrown (which is easy to turn off in ECMSpy/TunerPro should you want to remove the servo as a whole).

The oil in the fan is likely from a rocker box leak, which is common in older bikes. You'll probably just need to do a swap of the rocker box gasket to fix the problem. You may also have to replace or clean the current fan to prevent it from malfunctioning again in the future. This is the likely cause of your blown fan fuse.

OK so things i will have to do..

Get and figure out a ECMspy/Tuner pro

Ill need that to figure out why the cable was removed and or if it is just broke..

OK so dug into the bike alittle and the back side of the cylinder has oil covering it.. not like "OMG" but im sure thats why the fan has fried..

So ill look for the ECM spy and cable.. and will test the fan an see if she is fried like some hong knong rice..
Then ill get the Rocker box Gaskets and replace them..

Is there any sensors are parts that also should be replaced?

Thanks for you guys help..

Update:

So i Ripped into the Bike with bolts and screws flying everywhere!
What i have found:
I degreased the rear half of the bike to include the Engine and fan..
Checked all the Wires from the ECM and all that and dried it off..

Next day went for a couple hr ride.. Bamn the Fan turned on!

An Hr later however.. No Fan.. Then i find my left fork seal gave out haha..

So i get back to the shop.. disconnect the fan.. jump 12v to it and it turns on..
So is there a relay or a sensor that is fried?
I checked the FUSE its good.. so alittle help gents if you will..

Also when i bought the bike i did not need to engage the clutch to start the bike but now i have to engage the clucth.. any thoughts as to whats going on here?

Thanks gents
