Stumbled across these on flea bay. Sure they have a cool look for a custom job, but a knife blade style lever?!?! sounds like an injury in the making. There is a reason levers are blunt.

Levers

That has got to be one of the dumbest things I have seen. I'm sure when someone was dreaming it up they thought it'd be cool as hell.. Wow, just wow...

I don't see any issues with these........ LOL

At least it would be a clean cut in a crash :D

I'm actually thinking about getting them, I've looked at some different ones and I know people wouldn't try to screw with my bike!

danger....yes...
But I think they are pretty cool looking if you are looking for the "sharp/pointy" look on your bike

[confused] Dude! Looks killer but would chop you fingers off! Lawsuit in the making on this one. Holy crap! I don't believe what I am seeing here. [down]

The ad should say for show bike's only. Not intended for riding use.

i saw a guy who made a DIY helmet thing where he put a Mohawk on the helmet, but instead of fuzziness like most people have, he used knives! i should have saved the picture it was the stupidest thing ever! he was selling it on CL here locally for like $50 or so

It looks like the blade part is 3/8's thick. Probably would'nt cut you finger off. IDK. Looks scary!

They are not sharp where you actually grip them with your fingers, infact they are not sharp anywhere. The point of the stupidity is they are POINTY and in the unfortunate event of a wreck, can pierce your body unlike MOST levers which by design have a ball casted into the end. You know Jobe, like the ends YOU CUT OFF YOUR LEVERS. Same goes for pointy/spikey pegs and bars ends. Or even the lack of a bar end is dangerous. I know 2 guys who had a perfect round chunk of flesh removed from their bodies because their bikes didn't have bar ends installed.

This was exactly what I was thinking when I saw this. I've seen my share of nasty pics because of lack or bar ends, or lack of ball on the end of levers. I can just imagine what these beasts of levers would do!

I was actually looking at these on ebay too... I was wondering if the "blade" part is only an illusion when looking from one direction. Not sure if they'd be that careless to make them a real blade.
But now that you guys mentioned the sharp tip of it, I do see a good point against them.

I'm sure its not real blade, Jobe mentioned the blade part is actually like 3/8" thick. I'm sure they wouldn't be careless enough to make it real blade, a two finger clutch pull could leave you with 2 less fingers if that was the case.
