In Texas its a CHL. Concealed handguns license. My dad has one. And he was going to maybe ride his lighting but was on call. And he DOES usually carry on a regular basis. Haha what if he was there??

Unless it would have been used in self defense he would go to jail if the gun was shown. Self defense means if you are fearing for your life and need to use deadly force as a last resort. Having a concealed weapon permit does not give you the right to take justice into your own hands, does not make you a police officer, etc...

Pretty shitty of him to swerve into you then chase YOU down....but you gotta remember people are crazy and you are on a bike and they are in a vehicle, it doesn't matter if you're right, they can run you over whether they are wrong or right. Even when I'm pissed off and on my bike, I try not to anger people more than they already are. I almost got smashed between an suv and a truck a few weeks ago because some lady switched lanes rapidly at an intersection without looking, and I wanted to chase her down....but decided to just stay out of the way....

You no longer need a CHL to carry one on your bike. Your vehicle is considered an extension of your home. Not to say that would make this situation any better, it would've probably made it a lot worse.

OK, I had to join so I could post. I normally hang out on a different Buell board. I know.....This video came from my gopro mounted between my headlights on my '08 Buell 1125R. I was running the camera when the altercation took place. I will go back and look at it when I get home tonight. I was riding in back. It might not have caught anything. I don't know anything about how the other states teach the concealed carry, but in Texas, conflict resolution and avoidance is a big part of it. Notice, I was not in the man's face. I was behind the camera the whole time. That is all I have to say about it. Goduc, your dad might not want people to know he has a carry license? I dunno.

Concealed carry is meant to stay concealed, unknown until it is needed. Using it as a deterrant in a verbal altercation will just add fuel to the fire. :/
