Got hold of 2 Suzuki GS450s end of last week. 1 running and one as parts bike into the deal. my brother-in-law might want to take the complete parts bike and build it up.

i am now unsure of whether to keep it stock, make a cafe racer or bobber out of it...it is completely stock and the only "flaw" is the clear coat which is peeling on the tank.

it passed roadworthy test with flying colours - still has old plates on here.

I'm cafeing out a '83 GPz 550 right now. From my experience if you want an ongoing project, do it. Otherwise if you don't have allot of time to work on it, like me, I'd probably just clean it up and keep it stock.

that looks good! I am going the Cafe route - have spent the last 4 days or so researching cafe styles, DIY tips, etc.

got some other projects to finish up first - retro 50s Fridgedaire fridge that needs completing (plus another one after that).

I will tackle it as my winter project. :D

That's pretty cool. Someday when I have a the space to build one I am. Love the cafe style.

Took a quick clip this morning before popping off to work to show easily the GS starts up on cold start:

No throttle to assist starting. I do have a small electrical issue somewhere as the battery is discharging somehow. Had on a battery tender, but a few days later it is flat again.

Can see the Uly in the background.

Also got the other stripped bike to crank over last week and motor sounds pretty good - no rumblings and compression felt good. Will clean out carbs and tank in next week and prepare the motor for start-up. Stood outside for over 2 years.

Been slaving away on this for the last 2 months - did carb cleans (it was disgustingly dirty!)

This is the residue left behind after soaking it in Clean Green for a week!

primer went on well, but paint not so much...

I eventually opted to have it resprayed and it looks good!

Will do installation over the weekend and prep it for decal application for Monday. :)
