So I hooked up some LEDs to my brake lights and hey work but if I pull too hard or hard at all they go off... They come on when I pull the brake back a little but then poof decide to go off. Any ideas?

so when you aply pressure to your brake your pushing more amps into your lightin. led lights dont take that much so what you might need to get is a resister. before you do that though take a test light and/or an ohm meter to your wires before and after aplying the brake. this will tell you were your power is going an if you have a short somewhere. i work with electronics as a hobby so if you need anymore help let me know ill do what i can.

More pressure on the brakes equal more amps to the lighting system...awesome info...we need more insight like this to the perplexing world of electricity

Do they do the same with the regular tail light? Are these in addition to your factory tail light or in addition. If in addition you may have them connected to the parking light circuit instead of the brake. They should work properly no matter how hard or soft you pull the brake. The brake switch is not a potentiometer so it will put out the same voltage(not amperage). You should not need a resistor as long as you are using 12v led's. If they are not, toss them and get the proper ones.

Alittle hijacking here. Shawns, I looked at a conversion chart and it said I can replace my stock tail light bulb(7528) with a 1157. J&P sell an LED 1157 bulb. Will it work in my 12R tail light with no mods?
