I want to put a some LEDs onto my XB12Ss and was looking for ideas of led placement. I'm thinking about a 10 piece kit from LEDGlow.com. Not sure on color, red green or blue. There are multicolor kits but I hear the color is not as vibrant.

Here is my idea so far... LEDs above the license plate, inside the passenger foot peg bracket, under the head lights, under the swing arm, under the frame/tank and inside the front fender.

Anyone know how these LEDs and the 3M adhesive does in high heat areas?

I found the stoops with the adhesive side suck when it comes to the glue sticking. I used double sides tape on mine

Use 3m automotive tape, and 3m94 primer. Make sure your mounting area is very clean. no oils, grease, wax or armorall.

I put an led glow above my exhaust on the bracket and it was nonfunctioning within a year of use as it had been partially melted internally

nonfunctioning within a year

Thanks for the heads up, I think the only problem area I have is under the frame near the engine. I want it to light up the fins of the V but don't want the LEDs to overheat.

I also now have a right side scoop (not in the picture above). I might consider placing LEDs inside the scoop, which should keep them cool.

I like accent lighting on bikes. But I hate when it's done poorly when u see the strip of LEDs standing a mile away.

Thinking of adding this set up to light up the fly screen air box cover.

I put mine inside my chin fairing and there hasn't been a problem. Although, that doesn't help because I noticed you took it off. Just make sure air can get to them.

Oh I forgot. I have 4 8" LEDs inside the passenger bracket (one in each part) and 1 12" on each side between the scoop and the engine. No problems with any of them.
