Hey guys and girls(maybe?)
I recently just got my first buell xb9r. I love it, though some how I managed to overlook the fact that she is missing the license plate mount. I was wondering where would be a good place to order or pick one up? We rigged it, and it worked well for a while, however it ripped my license plate off, so I'm on the hunt for a mount.

Most make up a bracket. I used my rear reflector brackets. Here's a few pics

you could just mount it right under your seat, i just drilled two holes into the under tray and used a bolt and nut on the inside. Here is what it looks like.

[up] I like that J20. I used an L bracket and mounted it off my belt guard bolts.

I just made an aluminum bracket to mount mine in front of the rear tire. Keeps the road garbage off my shock.

I have a stock one if you want, pm me if interested. It is brand new.

The stock one can look like this without having to make holes in the undertray.

AKnight,
Since mine is just made out of thin piece of aluminum (old street sign) you can cut it with sawzall, jig saw, dremal tool, hack saw or even just tin snips. Little filing, sanding, drill holes, bend to desired shape and paint. Only took me about 15-20 minutes to make, once I decided on a design.

Im just trying to clean up my undertail. Theres just not too many options as far as placement goes. i figured if i put it there it wouldnt have any contact issues.

understood, did the same when I first got mine, did this with two strips of aluminum, mounted using the screws for the center tail section. the strips follow the contour of the under tray, which kept the plate flat, now it's mounted right under the tail light after making a notch in the tail section to allow light through, eliminating the stock license plate light

if you want stock buellster.com has them as well as a few of the usual suspects on evilbay selling parts off wrecks. i prefer stock mounting assembly but then again i like stickers, reflectors, other factory gadgetry.
