Lightning long

Forgot to mention, I had a stock seat shaved an inch to try and help with getting my feet on the ground. Didn't really help at all and it killed the ergonomics of the bike for me. Bike went from being a perfect fit, to rides over 30min started bothering my back and legs.

Just got mine this spring. Really enjoyed my first season with her! And...looking forward to doing a few mods over the winter. :eagerness:

Nice ride submax there are several of us who picked up longs this year. I very only had mine about 9 months and my blast a little over a year now. I bought the blast for the wife fell in love with it and had to have a lightning.

Hell yeah tone I dig it every bodies dirty ride is different good and bad.

Took this one yesterday it's amazing what a little tlc can do.

I have always felt that the SS was the pinnacle of on-slab XBs, overcoming all of the XB's major shortcomings: limited fuel capacity, cramped cock-pit, & nervous front-end.

However, that extra wheel base also made the turning-circle much larger, making for awkward low-speed maneuvering.

Amazing pic go! It is a pain moving her around in tight places that's for sure. But on the open road it's a beast quick and agile. it's stable too it doesn't matter if you are going 30 mph or 130 it's sold as a rock.

I run the urban assault seat on my SS and love it compared to the original seat. I am 6'3" so it makes riding much more comfortable but I could still do with a gel pad or some thing in the seat just to ease my bony ass on long rides. I looked for a touring seat a while ago part number 51916-06Y but came up with dead ends. I think I will have a go at making a gel pad for my UA seat.

I'm pretty sure that the uly and the ss take the same size seat. I want to say the urban assault came on the stt bikes so they might be another seat option.

i was thinking that the uly seat would work, should be the same length considering its almost the same bike in length. im going to try is what the hell roll the dice.

I am not sure if its year dependent but I thought the Uly seat fits over the rails of the tail section and not on top like the Lightning. I think you might need a Uly tail section?

I agree. That sums up the Ss well.
