Locking up your Bolt

I use an Abus Detecto 7000 R2. Bloody loud if you accidentally set it off yourself. I also have a Datatool S3 fitted. Oh, and both bikes are garaged, the car is parked in front of the garage ;)

Dude, I used to live in a **** neighborhood with an open walled garage, but I had a house so I just tossed down a board in the dining room and my bike say in my house at night.

I use the standard bicycle lock and wrap it around the rear wheel through the swingarm and around a pole when I'm at work. I had my old r6 picked up right off the ground at my old apartment. And it was a really nice gated one. No insurance is a bad dea. It is always worth the extra money for when you don't see it where you parked it.

I read through that Reddit post Thaloc linked. Wow, I'm freaked out. And come to think of it, my neighbor is a stripper and seems to have some questionable company over sometimes. I'm locking this thing up. The thief recommended one of the Kryptonite chains, but I have nothing to anchor it to. What are the best points on the bike to route the chain through to disable it?

I need to start trapping this thing Mad Max style. Explosives and alarms. It'll drive Blaster insane if he's ever around when they're trying to disarm it :)

I'd consider parking it in my apartment, but I'm up a twisty staircase haha.

I guess I could just chain it to a bunch of **** that'd be really annoying to have to steal along with it. A wheelbarrow, a little kid, you know, whatever's lying around.

Dig a hole
Put something metal in it that's thick and has a hook
Fill hole with concrete
Anchor bike to thick metal hook thingy.
:)

I'd love to, unfortunately I couldn't get away with that anywhere in my apartments, especially my garage.

i use the bike lock that can only be cut with a plasma cutter, weighs a good 40 lbs. Thats around my front wheel anchored to the ground. Theres also a cover over my bike every minute im not using it. Out of sight out of mind. Oh and insurance lol

From what I was reading, any semi-pro thief will stalk a bike and rider, note security and schedules and take it all into account - and seeing a lock on the front rotor or wheel is cake to them, ride up, swap wheels and ride off. Just be careful man! If there's an attach point around the frame any way, try that.
