If there is I got a question about a 98.5 dodge Cummins with a idle miss. If there is anyone I'll get the whole story.

A friend of mine owns a diesel shop so I can ask him if you really need. Are you not on a cummins forum?

I am but it takes forEver to get a response and there's a lot of people that ' know' what there talking about and we have tried just about everything except what's actually wrong with it obviously

Ok its a 98.5 dodge 2500 5spd. It has a random miss at idle only when its up to running temp and after you touch the throttle. He took it to a 'diesel guy' and just threw parts at it that guy put new raptor lift pump, pressure lines, injection pump, the ecm or w.e for engine computer, injectors, tps. New fuel filters obviously.
Iv looked in forums for a week or so with the problem and still have no clue. It throws codes for APPS but the tps is the same thing. Another code is map sensor and tps don't match and low voltage for map sensor.
On the Mac scanner I got it says possible fix and they all are things that were havent messed with is map sensor and crank sensor. But as I. Sure u can imagine he's sick of putting money in it cuz that guy screwed him. He gave him over 3500 buck and its still messed up. So I had him bring it to my place and figure it out for parts and beer.

But like I side it will idle perfect till its warm and u touch the throttle then its super random. Does not sound like a injector have cracked lines every line it changes every time and has a total dif sound
Were just lost and out of cash to toss at it
Thanks man
Oh and I'm a ag mech and put a 92 Cummins in my 95 half ton so I have a decent grasp of troubleshooting stuff but this is above my knowledge now

Wow that is an awesome write up.. we did put a new $250 tps/apps. And the other guy put what we believed to be a new pump and ecm in but I found some new test to try.
Thanks
I'll be back with news in a couple days

Usually the pump does come with the computer on it. The trucks ecm is seperate from the computer on the vp44 though. Im a little unclear of what exactly you are saying now.

I guess I'm not sure as well. There's a computer on the side of the engine that I was told controlled the fuel system. That has been replaced as well. The computer for the truck on the pas. Side fire wall has not been messed with other then contacts cleaned and greased .
I'm a 12v rotary pump fan so I'm a little lost as well sorry for the confusion

Oh yeah for sure... he's not happy with this other guy just throwing parts at it and just saying oh well. But that's how it goes
