What was the longest trip you did on your Ulysses? Was it trouble free?

Also feel free to throw in any long trips on your other buell models, as for myself I did a 3,500 mile trip from NJ to FL for bike week 2012 on my old '09 1125CR in 10 days. Longest in one day was from Daytona to home in 17 hours (about 1,000 miles) and only issue was a bad charging harness relay and a pissed off battery.

On my old '03 xb9r my longest trip was a day trip from my home to the hd battery plant in pa plus a ride to hershy park then back home, about 250 miles in total

I did Pa to Fl on my first Uly. Trouble free.

I rode a ZX14 from pa to Fl to Ca and back to pa. That was my longest trip ever. 13 weeks, 10,000 miles. Epic!

So far on my 09 XT I have ridden about a total of 50 miles :) but looking forward to many more as I just bought it

I'm interested to know as well. I got to sit on a uly yesterday for the first time and I'm in love. I will be buying one as my traveling bike sometime this year when I get the money saved up.

That's what I'm thinking about as well, either an 06 or 08-10. I never owned an xb12 bike so ill add it to my buell résumé!

I haven't done any exceptionally long-distances on my Ss. A 2500 km (1500 mi) round trip to Sandpoint ID (with buddies on a VFR, RC8, Streetriple, FZ1,& SV) is about the longest. Both the Ss & VFR required new batteries on the trip but that's about it. :D

Not quite a Uly, but this past October I did a 2100 mile trip on my 09 Ss. Va to RI, west across the top of PA (Rt 6) al the way to OH. Then south through WV back to VA. It was six days traveling with a 5 day stop in my hometown to visit friends & family. I had no issues, averaged 53 mpg, and had the time of my life!
Here are some links to the pics:

P.S. The Smugmug ones are out of order. [smirk]

I did a ride on my 09 XT from mid-MI to VA, up & down BRP and back. Around 1500 miles, not much of it on interstate highways, with other gonzo riders, and the Buell was excellent. The only problems I had was having to do a stoppie to miss hitting a deer on the Parkway :D and the 555 in OH was wet & dirty on the ride back.

2500 miles on uly, MD to KY, north to IN Moto GP, then south to TN. Bourbon tour, the dragon & surrounding roads, then capped off with night race at Bristol, TN & back home.

Week later transferred a vehicle to FL for work, rode bike home. 800 sprint from FL to MD. ~12hrs, normal gas tank & stopped for lunch. Put my bike inside of a mini bus using the electric wheelchair lift. There's pictures somewhere of a Ulysses inside a bus.

I know a guy who goes 300+ miles on a tank of fuel. Turbo xb12x. his frame is lightly customized...

About 20 years ago, I was in a well-paying dead-end job which allowed me to save up enough money to either:
A) buy a new motorcycle and tour the Southern States for six months over the winter,
B) go back to school

I literally flipped a coin & ended up back at school, but riding Dixie is still high on my list of things to do!

I Rode the xb9sx From Mi to NC (700 Miles one way That I did in about 12 hours ) and back about 4 times the first year I had it Did the Same Trip 6 and half times on the 1125r when the stator burned up for the third time that summer I brought my zx10r Kawasaki home

I feel I'm a piker. Longest trip was San Diego, CA to Sedona, AZ via Phoenix, then spent several days riding to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, the Mogollon Ridge and then back through Havasu and Palm Springs. Hotter than hell going through the deserts in mid-June and the bike ran perfectly. I don't remember what the final total was but the first day was a little over 600 mi. I have the aftermarket tall seat which I think forces me to spread my legs a bit and my crotch was just killing me. That was the only problem.

Haha. A riding buddy of mine took off on a 2500km (~1500 mi) trip for Southern California on his cafe'd CB450 in June 2013. He hung out in San Diego for a couple of months, then headed back North through Death Valley in August. He got as far as Vegas before the heat got to him. He dumped the bike off in the Caesar's parking lot & took a plane home. As far as he knows, the bike's still down there in the parking lot! :D

bought mine 2 weeks ago, flew from invercargill to nelson via wellington,if any one knows new zealand, from nelson at the top of the south island to gore at the bottom of the island, picked up the bike at 11.30 am,arrived home in gore 960 miles and 11 hours later...it was a big day..but what a ride

Well, I just got my Uly, and it isn't even licensed yet, so the longest trip so far is up and down the road....But, I would say the "Longest" trip I ever made was on an 80 CC Suzuki in 1968. I did about 900 miles in 6 days. The thing vibrated so much I am sure it is why i ended up with bad teeth.

I've only done a couple overnight trips within about 200 miles on the Uly. Not as dependable as my Sportster was - road the sporty from Georgia to Idaho, down to San Diego, back up to Utah and returned to Georgia in about 3 weeks.
