Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I just bought frame pucks for my XB12SS from ASB. the cost was under $60 for both the left and right + $14 shipping to New Zealand for both the left and right.

BuellParts.net has them listed for $79 EACH??? i was also advised they don't ship to New Zealand.

They addressed the price of the pucks a few posts ago, seems there was a mistake on the pricing and it is being fixed.

Bought trans orange plastics and pucks 2 years ago and were shipped right away.was very happy.I just haven't needed anything since then. On a side note buellxb is the first stop I make for any purchases. I have bought from matter for graphics and dean for both exhausts for my bikes and have been very happy with all of those purchases.this site is the best tool for keeping our bikes going. Thanks for the support and I will continue to use the vendors here.

Have bought from buellparts.net in the past, stock has improved from what I remember of the past, although the prices keep me from ordering from them.
newcastlehd.com, surdyke.com, LSHD1.com, buellsterparts.com are my primary parts suppliers simply due to the prices. I do shop at ASB as well having been the the shop several times, spoken with Al and his wife and they are local for me when I'm home with my family in SoCal.
Guys, it's simple...if the same parts are available elsewhere and cheaper in today's economy, you bet I'm going for the less expensive choice. It's about what someone can afford at the time. I understand they have to make a profit, but how do you justify the prices when other suppliers are still making money at their price listing? Case in point, recently ordered a Sunfire Yellow windscreen from newcastlehd.com and paid 72 bucks total to include shipping...buellparts.net 77.14 not including shipping. Some my say that's not much, but when you're on a tight budget, every little bit helps to save.

I never knew that Buellparts.net supported most of this site, good to know though!!! I really enjoy this site and hope its around for a long time. With that said, i own and ride a tuber with a little XB mixed in. I have ordered a couple XB parts in the past from Buellparts, but my main go to place for ordering parts is ASB because Al carries a lot more tuber parts. Also, i really do not like the layout of buellparts, at least the tuber section. I really do not like how all the models are all lumped together.... although most parts interchange from different models like the XB... if im looking for a part for my X1, i dont want see parts for other models. Never really looked or compared prices so i have no input on that.

i havnt needed any parts since i flipped my firebolt. it was at that time when i join this forum. i did check out buellparts.net. as well as asb and my local hd dealer and ironhorse, i think. when i came down to it the prices for all the parts i was needing were the same from buellpart, asb, and hd. so at that point i looked at shipping. with shipping figured in asb was cheaper than buellparts and hd wasnt going to charge me shipping. so i figured out gas price vs shipping and time of delivery. after all was said and done hd got me my parts in a few days and i spent 5 bucks in gas. money was tight. thats way i went that direction. when i went to look at add-ons and what not buellparts didnt have that any more due to it being discontinued, xb tank bag. i was able to buy the last complete buell tank bag in hd's system last year. otherwise its been shipping vs how much gas i will use to drive to the dealer. now knowing that they back this site i will change my thinking a bit.

First off I'd like to thank all the sponsors of Buellxb.com. Although most do not financially support the site, the engagement, forum moderation and support for the community is incredibly valuable.

That said, it does cost real money to keep this community alive. BuellParts.net provides the primary financial support for Buellxb.com. As you may expect, sales have been in a steady, gradual decline for the past few years as a result of HD shutting down Buell and other creative folks entering the market to help the community. The team at BuellParts.net still works hard every month to keep ample parts inventoried, respond to questions and ship orders out in a timely manner.

Our request for BLUNT feedback: Please let us know why you do or do not shop at BuellParts.net. The team wants to improve and your feedback is critical. We want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly. Thanks in advance!

My bike has never broke down and the maintenance parts I've needed are available from a very Buell friendly HD dealership a few towns over.

I like BuellXB. For the most part people who post here are great. Very few attitude cases.

I purchased my first Buell about seven years ago. Al at ASB was very helpful in sorting out many issues I had with the bike. Partially because of this I purchase a fair amount from him. For the last few years though it’s mainly been drive belts, wheel bearings, seals and brake pads.

Price is a concern. My Son’s a Jr at Boise State. When he graduates next May I’ll be retiring. Now that I know that Buell Parts is a major revenue source for supporting this forum I’ll keep that in mind when purchasing replacement parts.

I don't think I've ever bought anything from your site, now I feel bad. Here's my take as an amateur UX-designer/digital marketer, not really what you're asking, but I'll give it anyways: Your UX (user-experience) could use a serious facelift. The site itself is cluttered, and honestly somewhat hard to navigate. There's also a decent amount of parts listed that you don't have pictures of. People are very visual. We like pictures, even if it's a gas cap, we like to look at it just to be sure. It's tedious and boring to snap pictures of everything, but pretty important.

Ok, now to the more important things -- I'd be willing to bet that the majority of Buell owners don't use this site, and therefore have never heard of your site. They probably buy their parts like I buy mine -- Google search. That's where you're getting killed. Let me explain...

Typically when I'm looking for a part for my bike, I go to Google and type in whatever it is I'm looking for, usually open the top few websites that come up as results and shop from them. For example, I've typed in "buell lightning brake pads." I see them on your website so I know you guys have them. My top Google results are eBay, JCWhitney, Motorcycle Superstore, and Amazon. I've bought parts for my bikes from all of these sites. In fact, BuellParts.net doesn't even come up until the second page of results. You're the 13th result that comes up. Here's a relevant joke, do you know the best place to hide a body? Page 2 of Google search results. Websites that rank on page 1 receive 91% of the web-traffic (reference: http://searchenginewatch.com/articl...on-in-Google-Gets-33-of-Search-Traffic-Study)

There's a number of ways you can improve your own rankings organically. You don't have to pay a dime for it. Do a search for "SEO" or "learn SEO". Also check out Hubspot.com they have free Inbound Certifications that can help with driving traffic to your site. More traffic=more customers.

I'm sorry, but I was lol'ing at this. Not for bad information, but because of the following:

See that guy at the top? That's buellxb.

-EDIT-

I PM'd buellxb, but I'll put it here. I don't post here anymore and it's for the same reason a lot of Blast guys don't shop at BuellParts.net ... just go back and read the "welcoming" we got when BuellForums.com was bought out; maybe some of the XB-Blast conversation? Some members here constantly troll Blast riders. It's for that reason that we don't shop there.

Look at how many Blasts were sold compared to all other Buells. There are more Blasts on the road, it would be safe to assume there are more Blasts needing parts.

The members attitudes have directly affected buellxb's pocketbook.

I've told you that those attitudes reflect poorly on the forum, but I was laughed at. This thread is proof.

http://ukbeg.com/downloads/ATautumn-winter10.pdf

Of 137,004 Buell's built, 22,785 were Blasts. That's 16.6%! The next closest was the X1 Lightning (not even an XB) at 11,228 or 8.2%.

You (not buellxb, but you know who you are) have alienated the largest of any one (and some multiple) model of Buell. Then you wonder why parts sales are low?

*shrug*

Doesn't take a genius.

Really want to up sales for Blasts: sell intake couplers, top end gasket sets, ignitions, shifters, primary gaskets and chain tensioner shoes and spring, body parts, etc. - people buy at ASB because they are almost always in stock and can offer friendly advice. Here just the opposite - if SACBORG where still around and selling Buell parts - their name would be BuellXB.

Thanks for the continued feedback. It's true, I founded an SEO company that grew to over 100 employees in 2006, but I don't control the BuellParts.net eCommerce site and we lack the funds to do some of the content marketing things I would recommend to my paying clients.

I'm continuing to digest all of this feedback and the BuellParts.net team will do everything to fix as much based on that feedback as possible.

With regards to BuellForums.com, I'm sorry about that. Seriously, my apologies. I bought the domain and the original owner refused to let the content go with it. It was impossible for me to do anything other than redirect the domain I was sold. I asked the previous owner multiple times and he refused. I think the Blast riders tore into him pretty good right after the redirect happened and then he back peddled hard. He ended up acting like I was the devil and partnered with someone else immediately to rebuild the forum under a different name. In the end I paid good money for a domain just to piss off a ton of people and lose all the users/traffic that would have come with the domain.

You may not care about my opinions, I'm that "someone else" that obtained the content and re-opened the "competitor" site. I don't see it as much competition, we're Blasts and you're XB's, pretty clear-cut. However, you seem like a reasonable, non-biased, intelligent business man, so...

With regards to BuellForums.com, I'm sorry about that. Seriously, my apologies.

Blame's not with you. You can apologize until the cows come home, but we don't blame you. As I said, it's some members (continued) attitudes. Regardless of domain/content purchase/redirect, the members' attitudes remain the issue. They post more than you do and create the feel of the community. If someone's not comfortable posting here, they're generally not going to want to purchase from the store either.

EZ also gave you a short list of the sought after, general wear items for most any Blast rider.

If some attitudes were checked and wear-items stocked at reasonable prices, I would start buying from BuellParts.net myself.

I do agree with one point above, the front page of the site is very busy for the eyes.
