Looking to replace my rear turn signals - one of them is broken anyways, so I might as well upgrade.

2007 XB12X with HB Journey Luggage mounted.

I'd like to go LED, and something a little brighter than stock. Kellerman's and Rizomas are nice, but I don't know if I can justify that cost, and I really haven't found a style that I really like.

What are you guys running?

I'm also going to be replacing the fronts with LED's, but I have a different plan in mind for those.

I didnt really care for what I found avialable for our bikes. LEDs arnt that great I think. Whats wrong with yours? I am betting that we had the same problem...I ended up fixing mine, simple and cheap.

On second thought - I checked the BMW leds again - you'd have to do a little bit of fab work to mount them. They are NOT a direct install.

EDIT: I have some old turn signals - as well as other member around here. Check the for sale threads.

I just went down to my local bike shop and bought some BikeMaster cateye led signal. $20 per set(two in a set)

I'm sure I could get a set of factory signals on here pretty cheap, and I might even have one laying around from my Firebolt rebuild. Mine broke where the body meets the stalk. It will easily fix with some epoxy. However, it's also a good excuse to upgrade to something a little brighter.

I had also thought about wiring up a set of flush mount LED's on the flat spot on the side bags. However, this would make removing them a pain (would require a disconnect and drilling a hole in the bags to run wires) and I would still need something for riding with the side bags off, which I do often when commuting.

I know there's a lot of cheap, easy options for LED's out there, but I was hoping someone had a suggestion for something that looks nice and is bright enough to get some attention from the cagers, without having to spend $100 for it.

However - I do like those Zepto lights. I could get a red set, and wire them up as a running light as well as turn signals.

I just wish the Zepto's were on the cheaper side - maybe a set without the programmable controller...

I think I'm going to repair the stock one, for now. And I've been reading up on LED circuit construction. It might be worth a trip to radio shack to start making my own LED boards, and eventually coming up with my own lights. I also have the Hepco Becker top case - so I'm thinking about making a LED array for inside the red reflective area to effectively turn that into a brake light and possibly turn signals. I don't want to light up the back end of the bike like a Christmas tree, but a little bit of accent lighting can't hurt. I was thinking it might be nice to have small white LED's on the inside of the bags anyways. A few military grade weather proof connectors would do nicely, so it would only be one connection per piece of luggage. Time to start modding.

I also have a nice Lathe... so maybe it's time I start turning my own custom parts instead of buying them. If I can't find anything I like, I guess I'll build my own.

On My 09 Uly I broke the lens on the front right turn signal. Harley in Allen Tx says that they could get the lens for $6.75 by ordering them. They also said that the entire assembly is $17 for one side, should I ask if they are order able from there? they already said that either is not in stock there.

Called Harley in Garland and they just said sorry these parts are not available any more. I guess each HD shop has a different policy about Buell?

My buell came with Rizoma knock-offs. ~$30 on ebay for a pair. Nice and bright, and look the same (minus the Rizoma name on them). I mean, EXACTLY the same. I really like them.
My brother bought true Rizomas... I see no difference in brightness.
I can't say which ones the previous owner bought, but they look identical to these...

I had some cheapy ebay ones on my 650r... 30k miles and 2 years, they look like crap. Cloudy and the orange tip fell off... but they function fine.
Not from this seller, but they look identical to these...

There's not much room under the tail of the Buells, but my girls SV650 has flushmounts on each side of the plate, under the tail. They work REALLY well because they are in the shade... so when they flash, it's obvious. Some orange lights sticking out in the sunlight don't really grab attention IMO.

^^^ Yep, those are the ones on your Buell Duane. Looks like the price went up tho, think I paid like $32/pr. Big spender. Nothing but the best. ;)

How's she doing by the way???
