I'm looking at getting an 1125r with 2500 miles.. they are asking 7200.. is the price high.. and also I'm not a huge fan of the r fronts.. I love the cr because it reminds me of the lightning... how hard is it to swap the front to an r... and also an s tail may be in the works if I end up with it...

72 is really high, especially if it's not exactly what you want, offer 55-6 for it, and no more, JMHO, what model is it, 08s seem to actually be worth more because of the stators, but you still have the clutch weep issues

Its an 08... its at a dealership... I seen that they only gave him 4800.. I told them I'm interested but not at that price and they said they can't go any lower

Sure they can, but they want as much as they can get and there are better deals out there to be had. Possibly even a CR like what you want for the right price.

I've heard of putting different tail sections on, but it requires some fabrication skills to do it.

As others have said, I'd pass. That's a lot of money for the model you don't really want. I've seen some nice ones pop up on here regularly.

I know it's tough, but I'd wait for the CR.

I'd call em, give em your top dollar and say give me a call if you don't want it to be sitting on your floor next season.

I got my first 1125 at a dealer, a harley dealer at that. I threw at them the fact that parts and repairs can be a nightmare, the fact that the cr's are prone to so many electrical issues, has it had its updates? If they are a harely dealer? 99% of harley dealers dont want want it sitting on their floor, let alone coming back for service.

Throw all the cons out there, I did (even though I knew I wanted it the whole time) Make them realize you are taking a "problem" off their hands.
Give them your top price and you're phone number and tell them you are gonna look elsewhere. Bottom line is, they are asking way more than KBB or NADA.

Just my two cents. My first 1125r i talked them down from 6900 to 5100 out the door.
Good luck!

Pass! Don't let them suck you in. I picked up my '09 CR with 2,258 miles for $6K a year ago this last June. She is at 11,266 now...
