Hi everyone ,i have a 04 xb9sx.

the bike loses power two days ago after i ran up a hill with full throttle in 4 gear.

The bike run good at:

1: less than 1/2 throttle

2: in gear 1 and 2,no problem with full throttle.

The bike run bad :

1: full throttle in gear 3,4,5

2: cant go more than 120km/h with full throttle (in gear 5 with less than 1/2 throttle, it can go up to 160km/h)

Will that be a burn clutch PLATES?

The clutch adjustment was bad(too much counter clock rise ),i had adjust that right now but problem still there.

Or will that be a dirty TPS?

Thank you

last owner put on a after market exhaust( name "devil") and K&N air filter.

I had put the buell exhaust back on ,but keep the K&N filter.

Will that be the problem too?

Does this mean that the bike had previously been running fine and this is a new problem?

Can you give more details on what you mean by "runs bad" and "loses power"? You mentioned the clutch... can you tell that it is slipping under full throttle?

What does it do? Backfire, just lay down, drop a cylinder, etc. If it 'revs' ok but doesn't 'accelerate' then it sounds like clutch slippage. If indeed it is an 'engine' issue and NOT your clutch, why not START with the basics..... Check plugs first. Check your plug wires....some will rub through at different places....primarily at idle cable and rocker boxes. Cosworth and other giys knows more than I about 'Spy than I do, but you should be able to 'see' your TPS in there? It IS possible it's a TPS, but as far as I know, it shouldn't make any difference what gear you're in.....if it has a dead spot, it's a dead spot.....regardless. That white wire mod doesn't mean a LOT....It doesn't hurt a thing to 'undo' it, but don't expect day and night results. There is multitude of things that it COULD be.....just start out with simple, basic, common things first. :)

To answer your first question about the clutch.. If you twist the throttle in any gear and the rpm's go up but you dont increase your speed then the clutch is slipping (needs adjustment) or already bad. Like everyone else said provide some more information about your problem and start your diagnoses by installing ecmspy software (free download) and buy cable to check important values on your computer. Then do a TPS reset, adjust your clutch and go from there. Also, check your air filter and see if its dirty and clean the butterfly valve inside the throttle body with some carb cleaner.

Hi everyone, i had replace the regulator with a brand new one.

And every thing is good again.

The old regulator is working good,
the only reason i replace it just because it's getting old ,out looking was no good.

Anyway, thank you for help!
