Ok, so has anyone successfully attached magnets to the inside of their airbox cover to allow the use of magnetized tank bags?

If so, can you please put up a link to the exact magnets you used and the adhesive? I have the icon primer tank bag and I'd love to be able to use it but I tried superglueing some hardware store magnets to the inside and let's just say things did not turn out well.

I'm thinking I need some pretty heavy-duty magnets and some vibration-resistant/temperature-stable two-part epoxy.

Most guys use Neodenium magnets. You can buy them in the craft section at walmart. Just super glue or epoxy them in the places you need them.

I have. I used my tank bag that im selling up to 100mph winds on my CR without problem. I had my magnets taped for the time being (still there) as i was testing but epoxy would be a perfect forever solution.

I can't remember the type of magnets, I think I got them from walmart, about the size of a quarter. But yeah I used a two part epoxy to glue on the underside of my c/f cover. Works really good! I'm using the small Ogio tank bag.

I bought a Sedici tank bag at Cycle Gear for like $40 and just strap it to the passenger seat w/ some good bungies. Works pretty well.

Hi,

If you have old 3.5" hard drives from an old computer, you can take it apart and get some low profile, very strong magnets for free.

There's two magnets in each hard drive and they are super duper strong, so please, don't place them anywhere near your wallet because they will eat your magnet strip in your plastic credit cards.
