Is it a real brass hinge? Or brass plated? I'm suprised you would admit to using such a pedestrian material on your bike.

It actually works pretty well, I just try not to think about it when I've got all my weight on the torque wrench cranked to 11!

Someone will say this, so here you go. Do not use an impact on this. It can knock the crank/flywheels (whatever you want to call them) out of sync/plane and then you'll have an unbalanced mess on your hands. The assembly is just pressed (or bolted) together.
 
It's nice to have a site to go to will actual knowledge instead of just 100 guesses. I still have alot to learn about these bikes but everyday I absorb little more. Learn a little more. Laugh a little more. So to all the sarcasm all the opinions all the facts tricks and part sources thank you all that contribute. I'll drink my glass of whiskey and ginger to you !!
