Yes. The both compete on the NHRA circuit. Has to be interesting at home after they run against each other...

Last I knew Al-Anabi dropped their sponsorship to him since the owners dad dropped funding to his son for being a crack head. It was his discipline for his son, but screw all the other guys on the race team too.

Sheik Khalid finances Al-Anabi Racing - I don't know anything about "his son". Al-Anabi Racing won the NHRA Top Fuel Championship in 2011. Presently Matt is sponsored by Smith Racing, crew chiefed by Steve Tartaglia, and wife Angie is sponsored by Coffman Tank Trucks, with Matt as her crew chief.

My buddy paints the Al-Anabi drag cars and was told the bike sponsorship was dropped.

Says it here.

The NHRA web site driver profile page shows Matt is sponsored by Smith Racing (i.e. Matt's dad, Ricky Smith Racing):

But on Dec. 6th, Angie posted in the driver blog:

"As of right now we have not got anything as far as sponsorship to go racing in 2012. It's really depressing but we are pushing forward every day. We are trying every day. I am on the phone and sending emails everyday just hoping that I will strike someone’s interest in our race team. We have a great team and I don’t want any of us to be sidelined in 2012. I am hoping and praying that something will come through so we can start on some research and development so we can be a little more competitive for next season. Michael Ray will be with us racing next year regardless if we find funding or not. So glad he and his team decided to join us for 2012. Again they are such an awesome group of people and a lot of fun to be with at the racetrack.

Thanks again to all the folks that supported us in 2011. We are hoping 2012 funding will come through and we can race once again."

Wish I had the money to sponser them, to keep those two Buells in professional motorcycle drag racing....

Those are badass. Loved watching them when NHRA came to Gateway in St Louis. But the only thing Buell on them is basically the Buell sticker

More tumultuous developements for Al-Anabi Racing - both drivers on the NHRA Top Fuel team (one of which won the 2011 championship) have resigned as drivers for the team, siting "private team matters"...
