So, never buy Dainese. I had a pair of dainese pistons(Shortie gloves) Had them for all of a week before the rivets popped on the floating knuckle on my right hand, another week for the rivets to pop on the left. And about 2 more for the seem to split on the middle, right finger.

So, I was on the hunt for a new pair of mitts. Aaaaaaaaaand let me present you all with the most awesome pair of motorcycle gloves known to man. Now in my possession, muahahahaha.

Knox Handroid

Pinnacle of the collection, race inspired hand armour.

Patented Exo skeletal flexible spines that cover the vulnerable knuckles, fingers and thumb and give full unrestricted movement. These link to a comfortable gel lined Metapod that covers the metacarpals and offers added protection to the back of the hand.

On the palm the tried and tested Sport Scaphoid Protection System is enhanced by additional sliding systems on all sides which ensure that in the event of an accident the majority of contact with the ground are sliders and not leather. An additional inner cuff slider works to support and enhance the SPS sliding effect. Super strong and tear resistant Kangaroo leather covers the inside palm and fingers.

The Handroid carries the most technical Knox Boa lacing system that allows precision adjustment around the whole cuff. The wrist system acts as an external brace and tightens equally from all sides. All you have to do is dial in the right torque for you. To release simply pull the dial. Putting gloves on and off has never been smarter or easier.

Knox Handroid live exoskeleton finger and knuckle protection on all fingers and thumb
Knox metapod protector
Knox Sport styled Scaphoid protection system
Knox wrist slider
Knox cuff slider
"Dialled in" Boa lacing system
Kangaroo leather palm
Amara grip pad with silicon print for improved control
Japanese race quality drum dyed Aniline leather
Japanese polyester high tenacity thread
Superior fit and comfort

Surprising, they make quality stuff. I've got some Dainese goods and they are too notch!

But DAMN those gloves look pissed! They are like bionic hands! Very cool! [up]

And nice introduction to the gloves ;)

I have a pair of ICONS that cost $39.99 on sale. They are two years old and holding up just fine. So it looks like I own the:
most awesome pair of motorcycle gloves known to man.muahahahaha.

My hands are worth more than $250 bucks. I got a buddy that does track days. He's crashed in his Knox Handroid's 5 times and still wears them. Completely intact structurally. Ill post up some pics when I find them.

As for comfort. They stack right up with my Alpinestars MX-1 jacket. Almost like they were tailor made for me. Hugs your hands in a way no other glove ever has. Like armor that has no movement restriction what so ever, yet leaves your feeling you could smack the Sun in the face and get away with it.

Im actually surprised, you would think a full gauntlet would be slightly restricting, but compared to those daines, leaps and bounds better in comfort and protection.

Next up is a pair of boots as I just sold my old ones.

Also, do any of you know any way to paint a helmet in a rubbatone black like some of the Icon helmets? I have an Icon Variant Etched in blue, and its slightly scratched up from falling off my clip ons, and the blue is just too flashy for me. Any advise would be much appreciated.

They are sexy!! But no way I could afford that right now!! Cause as soon as I get a pair the wife would want one too!!!

Jeebus Thaloc are you a stunt man or something?

EDIT: I didn't see that they were your friends gloves.

My derp.

i have tthe same gloves but the little white thing fell off right after i got them i love the way they close..Revzilla

Did it hit the ground?

It did. Minor scuffs and whatnot. Not really painting it cause that, more cause I hate how flashy it is.

No, Im not going to send it into Icon to be tested. All that **** is a load of hog wash saying that a helmet can be compromised by a fall to pavement from waste high without a head inside of it. And I have that info from the horses mouth.

Your head has to be in the helmet when it hits the ground under those circumstances for any of the crush zones to be used up.

From the Snell website:

"Helmets are normally comprised of four elements; a rigid outer shell, a crushable liner, chin straps or a retaining system and fit or comfort padding. The rigid outer shell when present adds a load-spreading capability, and prevents objects from penetrating the helmet. It's kind of like an additional skull. The liner, usually made of EPS (expanded polystyrene) or similar types of materials absorbs the energy of an impact by crushing. The chin strap when properly buckled and adjusted along with the fit padding helps the helmet remain in position during a crash. Helmets work kind of like a brake or shock absorber. During a fall or crash a head is traveling at a certain speed. Since the head has weight, and is moving there is a certain amount of energy associated with the moving head. When the helmet along with the accompanying head impact an unyielding object; a rock, a wall, a curb or the ground the hard shell starts by taking the energy generated by the falling helmet (head) and spreads it over a larger portion of the helmet, specifically the internal foam liner. The foam liner then starts to crush and break which uses up a lot of the energy, keeping it from reaching the head inside. Depending on how fast the head is traveling, and how big, heavy and immovable the object is the faster the head slows down, and the more energy is present. In short everything slows down really quickly. A helmet will effectively reduce the speed of the head by breaking and crushing which reduces the amount of energy transferred to the brain. The whole process take only milliseconds to turn a potentially lethal blow into a survivable one."
Because of the different layers involved in how a helmet reduces the impact of an accident, coupled with the fact that the part that absorbs most of the impact is not even visible, a drop of anything higher than 1 - 2 feet onto a hard surface can, effectively, render a helmet useless as protection in an accident - even if there is no visible damage.

You say your hands are worth more than 250 so how much is your head worth, just saying...

Our local riding community has gone over this issue over and over. If there is nothing inside the helmet upon impact, the liner absorbs NO impact. It's the liner that does the protecting, NOT the shell.

Seriously, contact a manufacture sales rep, they will tell you the same thing. If you crash in a helmet, replace it, if u drop a helmet, keep it.

Alright no problems here it isnt my head. If thats what you believe in I wont try to change your mind. I was in a pretty bad accident click my name check out my thread, I am just a worry wort lol. [up]
