Mechanical Engineering Design Idea

I posted this in the general talk thread but wanted to post it in my home thread

I am going to be entering my senior year come this August and I am in need of project ideas. I have an idea I am working with my current employer but I do not know if I will be able to obtain funding for it.

I'm just looking for some ideas of things you guys think would be a good idea to design and develop from a mechanical engineer standpoint. It can really be anything as I am responsible for research, design, manufacturing and test of said idea. I would like to develop something for our bikes or it could be something related to motorcycles in general. I am also open to anything else you may think of.

The idea must be one that is not available on the market, basically something undeveloped. So, any ideas?

Your best bet it to have an industry partner like your current employer. Is this a team or an individual exercise?

Companies would submit projects to my university and pay $10,000 for a team of students to complete it over the course of two semesters. In some instances longer if the team didn't finish on time.
