Well I know some sportbike guys around here that also track their bikes and they love the Pilot Power 2ct tires. If these things improve off that to even a higher level they have to be stepping on the heels of some race tires.
I personally do alot of commuter riding and alot of hwy riding on my bike but love to get on the back roads and tear them up for a while and not scared to get the knee by the ground. I have the Pilot Road 2ct tires on my bike. These tires I love. I get great mileage on them and when in the turns they still have tons of bite and don't ever really feel like they want to get loose unless coming out of a steep lean in 1st or 2nd. Then it just wants to spin.
I guess it would depend on your riding style. I'll bet most would be fine with Pilot Roads - they are plenty sporty for all except the wildest. And if your riding is anything like most of the US, there's way too much straightaway where the hard compound in the center makes sense.
If all you do is head out and hit the twisties, then these look great. Can't go wrong with Michelins.
I'm intrigued. I loved the original Pilot Power. Never rode the 2CT's. And I considered going to the Road 2's next. Might skip the Roads and go right to these bad boys.
I have the roads and love them... got them on recommendation of my friend who put a set on his r1 road from Alabama to California back took two week off then road to the beach in Georgia and came back and still had plenty of tire to commute on and never had a problem with grip... so I think I will try road 2's next
Interesting. I think I'd want something harder for street use, but for the track, or if you had a spare set of wheels to swap on for serious twistiies action, those might be good. Don't know if I'd want them if it was too wet.
