I currently have a Micron exhaust. yes it sounds great and yes it performs well, or at least it used to....

The internal weld (inside the can) holding the inlet ports in place is busted. The inlet ports just kind of bounce around now. Then, the 2 mounts that bolt onto the bike itself broke in half. So the only thing holding the can on is the flimsy rear strap. Result is a bad exhaust leak. Can't weld in place because it will just snap again. Hmmm.... new exhaust time?

Micron is out of business, so can't provide any suppot. Good luck finding a replacement through a parts shop, so my question is this:

Can the Micron headers be used with another aftermarket brand slip-on? Oh yeah, and don't have the original OEM exhaust...

How many miles did the system go before failing?

Why must it fail if repaired (know welding heat can weaken, make metal harden/brittle), brazing repair joins could be an answer @ muffler.

I'll try to get a picture of it up tonight. The inlet ports are stuffed w/ JB weld (1st layer is to keep it in place, 2nd to fill in the air leaks and 3rd to just fill in the extra space and hopefully back up the first 2 layers). Not sure how well it will hold up because I'm having other issues with the bike (refer to other posts) so haven't been riding it.

haven't found anyone local that will do necessary welds while it is installed on the bike, but if I take it off then there is no way to ensure the ports are welded in the correct positions to fit the headers. Ughhhh... Micron!

You may be able to get ahold of him on badweb faster.....that was the 1st place I saw him post about his issue.
