After battling the exhaust flange nuts and breaking one of the studs, the exhaust is finally off my bike and for sale.

I figured it would be best to put the system on Ebay so atleast serious buyers could all have a fair shot at it.

I'm thinking if a forum member buys the exhaust, I'll discount the shipping charges. How much of a discount you ask? I'm not sure yet, but it will be something.

Description from the listing:

Micron Serpent Exhaust for Buell XB Motorcycles

No longer available from Micron, this exhaust is arguably the best performing, best looking and best sounding exhaust for our Buell XB motorcycles. The exhaust comprises a fully hydro formed header feeding into a straight through muffler with internal crossover exiting with two hydro formed exhaust tips.

Yes, it looks amazing...but its not all show. It produces some of the best horsepower and torque improvements compared to just about every Buell XB exhaust system on the market.

So, now that we've agreed, the exhaust is pure bada** lets continue...

This particular system was purchased brand new in 2008. It has approximately 5000 miles on it and as seen in the pictures, its in darn good condition.

I shook the muffler around good once it was removed from my bike to check for any rattles that would signify something being loose inside the canister...its solid. There is nothing loose or rattling around.

All of the parts necessary to install the exhaust are included...except the entirety of the M6x20mm button head cap screws necessary to mount the chin fairing to the exhaust fairing brackets. I only have 3 of these screws left. Sure, you can mount the chin fairing with only these 3 screws and it would probably be fine...but you're probably better off running out to home depot and buying the rest of the screws for a buck or two.

As seen in the pictures, the ends of the header tubes that fit into one another have some discoloration. Same goes for where the lower tubes are clamped into the muffler canister. Fortunately, these areas are not seen when the exhaust is installed so its really no big deal.

There is some minor discoloration in the upper header pipes nearest to the exhaust flanges. I'm sure this will polish out if it really bothered you. Check the pictures.

There is additional discoloration on the two lower header tubes where it looks like they may have been slightly rubbing on one another. This is merely a surface discoloration. Check the pictures.

The very outer edges of the tips are not quite perfect, they're close too it, but not quite. Again, a pretty minor concern and their condition can be seen in the pictures.

The exhaust flanges are pretty rusty. I guess Micron made this entire exhaust out of stainless steel than cheaped out on the flanges. The flanges are structurally sound. Again, they're not easily visible when installed...so probably not a big deal.

The underside of the muffler canister is not perfectly smooth because of road debris and the muffler straps holding it.

Despite its few minor flaws as described above, the exhaust looks great, sounds great and will bring your bike to life.

The exhaust has no damage from the bike being laid down or any other structural damage.

The sale of the exhaust includes Micron's original installation instructions and an additional muffler strap. Micron supplies only a cheap worm gear type strap...so I'm including this original and a beefy Buell original T-Bolt type muffler strap used on factory Buell mufflers.

Please note:
If you would like pictures of any specific areas or would like any addition information, please feel free to contact me.

Shipping shall depend on you location. I don't think its fair to charge a flat fee if someone nearby purchases the exhaust. Please use the shipping calculator to determine your shipping cost.

If buyer would like expedited shipping, please contact me immediately following the auctions end. Bidders outside of the Continental US, please contact me prior to the auctions end.

Buyer may pay cash, pick up the exhaust in person and shipping charges will be waived.

Lastly, this exhaust is for sale locally. Therefore, I am reserving the right to end this auction early.

The motorcycle shown in the photos is not included in this sale.

I'll be very interested to see how this plays out, for purely entertainment purposes.

edit: I'm curious to know why, in God's name, are you selling it?

You wanna trade for a drummer SS muffler?

Thanks for the offer, but I must decline. My bikes all squared away with a hawk pipe...which doesn't sound as good as the Micron lol

How much to kill the auction?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to let it run to give any one interested a fair shot at it.

Its time for something new and I need to keep my priorities in line. I just started a business and getting it off the ground is more important to me than having a completely badass exhaust on my bike.

As for the entertainment value...I'm really curious to see how this all goes too. It's either going to sell for a good price, or someones going to get a smokin' deal and I'm going to be kicking myself in the ass.

Man has spoken! Good luck guys!

Never understood those who just start excessively bidding on an item that has 5 days, but its their money.

But now that we know you've got a Micron exhaust system..........what do you want for it?!? :D:p

im out...i love to see price driving....i want to see who really pays for it.

Like you needed another one Squid?

Right? What ever happened to putting items on the watch list? Then again, they might just be proxy bids

Haha, gl with that. I'd offer to trade 2 factory race pipes for it and I bet he still wouldn't bite.
You're right, I wouldn't. Simply because I have no need for two additional pipes let alone one. If I needed a new exhaust however, it would be another story.

Do you have a reserve on it?
No reserve. I never liked the idea of reserves in an auction. It doesn't make sense to me.

pretty sweet exhaust....why the change
Check out a couple posts above you...

I definitely didn't expect the bids to get up as high as they did as fast as they did. I appreciate the questions and feedback guys.
