Went to the xoptiinside web page and left an email via the page based mail system. I have downloaded TunePro RT and bought one of the bluetooth connectors via the group buy fiasco this fall/winter, and of couse it doesn't work. I threw it away and I am trying to get a hold of Cobb to see if he can make me a USB to Can cable with a 10-12' length. Haven't had a reply yet. Anyone else want to suggest a cable for this. I have TunePro RT running on a Dell laptop with a windows 8.1 OS. Thanks in advance. :)

Using the posts on the forum, I made my own bluetooth connector. Wasn't all that difficult if you can read a schematic and solder and I am far from being an electrician or electrical engineer. Was able to buy most of the stuff locally. Had to order the plug (forget where I ordered it from) and the bluetooth modem from www.sparkfun.com.

There was a guy who posted on I think it was page 9 on the fiasco Bluetooth post on how he made his own and the links to buy the stuff . If you look back at the old posts you will find it and that is how I made mine. I use it with android.

I noticed on the xoptiinside web page that some of the stuff doesn't work with Windows 8. That why I decided to just get a cable instead. I have a Samsung phone, but it is a company phone and I am prohibited from adding personal apps.

That sucks. I have an android and use EcmDroid for my data logging, upload the .msl file to dropbox, use Megalog Viewer to do my tuning, then burn the new map using EcmSpy. Pretty simple setup and beats packing a laptop around to do the data logging.

I bought a USB cable off of amazon. I got the duetch plug from amazon as well. I used the instructions found on here and off of ecmspy's website. As for the Bluetooth dongle, I built 2 of them. One with a sparkfun chip and another with some other chip. I used the instructions found on here and on ecmspy's website. If you want a cable I could sell you mine. Now if I was on my laptop I would post a link to the post dealing with what you are looking for.

Dude. You've got to watch that gay midget porn shit. Apparently some people frown upon that.

I use the BT module from the group buy. First thing I did was crack it open and make sure it was all good inside. Re-did a few things and sealed it up for good. Works great now. I either use it with my phone or I purchased a cheap USB BT reciever for my laptop off of amazon. $9 and it works great.

On a side note I also purchase an obd2 BT transmitter for the car. That thing is handy as hell.

Mike is a good guy and knows his shit. But honestly his customer service is lacking.

Our ecm cables are stupid simple and easy to make.

me too in anticipation of using the BT module from the group buy. I haven't tossed the module yet. Still sitting in the scrap pile in the storage unit.

okay Goose, what things?

LOL. But do you realize how big it looks in those chubby little hands? :D

I went through and re-did all the connections I could find. Shrink wrapped and sealed everything exposed with plasti-dip, and pulled out the pins to the duetsch connector and re connected the wires there for peace of mind. There really isn't that much to the module. All in all I found 1 loose connection and 1 pin to the connector was not seated all the way.

there are 6 pins on the BT module inside the housing and 4 wires to the Duetsch connector. Can someone post the right terminals to connect each of the wires to? I seen in the group buy thread that Kyle posted that some of the chips he received were bad from the factory. Just assumed this was the problem. Dis-assembled the module and one of the connectors to the chip was off, but not sure which pin it goes to. Looks like it was assembled in a hurry (imagine that). I will review the entire thread later tonight if I can find it. If I remember correctly I seen where a moderator had locked the thread, but I don't think it was removed.

Not sure which bluetooth module you have, but here is how you wire from the bike's data link connector (DLC) to the bluetooth module:

DLC pin 1 (Rx) - -> BT module Tx

DLC pin 2 (Gnd) --> BT module Ground + voltage regulator ground

DLC pin 3 (Tx) --> BT module Rx

DLC pin 4 (+12v) --> voltage regulator input

Volt Reg output (5v/) --> BT module power

The above assumes your BT module runs on 5V.
The BT module builder should have already handled the other two BT pins (CTS/RTS) and caps for the voltage regulator.

It's killing me that I am ready to sell these, but I'm just not satisfied with my packaging (working on that intently now).

the volt reg out (5v/) where is that? My module (BlueFruit) is only wired for the four (4) wires going to the DLC Duetsch connector.

If it is the Bluefruit EZ-Link breakout module, then it has a built-in voltage regulator (not all modules do).

So DLC pin 4 goes to the BT module "Vin".
