Mirrors

Hello all new member, got my cr on Dec 5 have only been out on it once (only about +4 temp so a short ride) but I quite like it. So have been working on a few things did a handle bar change and now the mirrors give me a good view of my elbows. Has any one ever taken on of thses mirrors apart? If yes were do I start prying?

The mirrors on my CR are useless---except as turn signals, for which they are great.

If I manipulate them such that I can see ANYTHING behind me, in doing so it loosens the stalk-to-mounting bracket joint so much that the mirror flops around at every bump.

A definite peeve of mine!

The mirrors suck. Look into bar end mirrors.

I would consider bar ends, but then I'd have to find a front turn signal solution, too. Unless I supplemented the OEM mirrors with bar end mirrors instead of replacing them outright...

More likely that I'll try to manufacture a mirror mounting bracket---one that doesn't suck.

Unless somebody can share a solution to make the stock mirrors less lame.

oberon has some great bar end mirrors and bar end blinkers

I'm glad for you, but most aftermarket blinkers will not pass Hawaii safety check inspection because they are not DOT-approved.

^i was offering that info to cabxj but im happy your glad for me.i know that they are legal in tx.not saying they are in hi but it might be worth looking into bar end blinkers

if it helps the CR's look much better with bar ends anyway IMO!

If anyone has a set of cr mirrors lying around I'd be willing to take them off your hands!

Here are a few pics of my CRG barend mirrors and cheapo turn signals for your reference. As most have said, the oem mirrors suck and this was my solution.
