So I've got my Jardine, and I Love it, but I was thinking about trying to mod my stock one for a little more of a custom feel. any Ideas that would be great. I'm an Amateur Welder so I can weld, but I need some Ideas on where to go with this...

What are you after as far as an end result? How loud? how far from stock? what kind of back-pressure do you want? etc. I built one from scratch so far and I am very happy with that and I also picked up a used stock on on ebay and plan on modding that one soon. I am sure that we can come up with some great ideas for you as long as we know what direction you want to go with this thing.

This is the one I built (if it helps w/ any ideas)?

Bajabomber (P-51 buell guy) made one of those voodoo's. It's currently on Spymacs bike and he LOVES it.

Actually I was looking very close to one of those! maybe the fish tail on the back. and something a little bit more quiet than my Jardine. I like the sound. but I don't like my ears ringing after a 30 minute ride. first things first I'm gonna cut the end off of the muffler and see where to go from there.

i opened up the top of the back and cut off the stainless tip. then cut out the exit tube. and patched the top up and welded the stainless back on. it is the best sounding exhaust ive heard. sounds bad ass but now it stumbles when cold only first take off. and ive put alot of miles on it and it wont learn it.

look for the thread "super easy exhaust mod" by afinely. i just posted on it. it should be at the top of the diy section for a while. I just tried it and am happy with the results.

mines a 05 xb12scg. it only stumbles and maybe dies on the initial take off if im hard on it. if i let it warm up it wont do it. by the time im at the end of my street. maybe 200 feet its fine.

i looked at the super easy mod but the inside of the pipe looks like crap. with opening it and cutting it completely out you can grind the opening smooth and make it pretty then paint it black and all is good. if you cut it open on the bottom side to cut the pipe out and no one will see a weld. my weld is below the big aluminum bracket so you cant see it anyway.

im getting it powdercoated right now so im fine with it and the inital running problem is a nuiscance but im happy with the sound and it runs the same when warm and sounds wicked. it has a hollow deep bass.

Nuage420b, it is actually one straight pipe in the center (now that I've modified again & again). it is 2" schedule 10 stainless steel pipe. in order to maintain some back-pressure, I limited the size of the exit to utilize the 2" pipe as somewhat of an expansion chamber if you will. I am very pleased thus far, power and torque gains are through the roof [up]

Could you PM some instructions or a visual on how you set it up? So far I have two angled tips from a ducati monster, and my stock pipe. but i love the look of your pipe, and might find a way to use those tips with your set up.

The easiest mod would be to just rip all the internals out. Then just make a simple I-beam support in the front of it for a jacking support. Then weld on an end cap with single outlet for a 9 and dual outlets for a 12. This design works good. There is a well known muffler builder that uses this design.

Cut it open and pull the guts out.

Here is what you will be left with on the inside.

Then add an I-beam style jacking support on the inside.

Make and weld on an end cap.

how many times are you on the ground looking in the tailpipe? i cant even see inside when i bend over. i have to lay on the ground. but to clean it up you could do two cuts and just take a small "ring" out of the pipe. this would have the same effect and would look clean. just dont drop the ring inside.
