Modded XB12 Exhaust

I've got one left too. Same deal here. Remember the VooDoo exhaust, which I thought was really freakin cool uses the same bend in its design, only I think it was a front exit design.

Yep Jon0341, I will be looking to do that pretty soon. I have zero experience with dyno runs so like everything else in my life I will have to learn fast.
There are a couple of dynos in the area from what I am told. Do Hardley Dealerships have dynos?

Not to bust any ones bubble or steal a sale from anyone but i just wanted to let you guys know that summit racing has j- pipes in all different sizes. I ordered a 2" for my custom pipe. It has a 3" radius and one has 6" of pipe and the other has 14" of pipe I paid $23 shipped and got it the next day. Just wanted to give all you guys a different option.

Also, if one of you guys will give the center to center measurement on the out side pipes from one to the other, I will check the j-pipe I mentioned earlier and it might be what is needed to do this mod with out the need to stack the pipes. Just an offer and idea.

I still have the internals and I will get the measurement as soon as I can get my son out of the pool.

Here is a rough sketch looking from the back to the front of the muffler.

They don't fit inside the can without cutting them in the middle and rewelding them back together. The only one that fits perfectly is the 2'' radius 180* but its a 1 3/4'' o.d. tube, not 2''.

My design utilizes the donut which has a 2 inch radius and 2 inch diameter pipe. 4 inches centerline to centerline and 6 inches outside overall diameter. This bend is tough to make on a bending jig so the donuts are pressed and die cut for each half and then welded together on the outside. A smaller diameter will of course work but I was trying for as much volume and expansion inside the stock can as possible. You can see here it just fits inside the can.

That pipe may work even though its reduced a little in diameter. The reason I used the pieces I did use was so I had the ability to wiggle the bend up high to clear the exit pipe. I even thought of doing a custom welded offset for the exit pipe but I chose the path of least resistance. It did involve more welding as all the seams needed to be welded. I will post my interior pipes from the side view tonight. I am not proud of my semi bird poop welds but they did seal.
It will show how I had to bend/adjust things so this would work.:D

Ok, here is the sideview to show that you can adjust upward the loop and tilt lower the exit pipe. Sorry for the welds, I like low pressure gas for light guage stuff. I suck at mig. This setup, with 2 inch pipe as the biggest diameter, is what fits comfortable in the stock shell. Oval pipe would also be interesting. Anyway... thanks to everyone for their input and feedback.

Here are some pictures of my modified exhaust. Mine is very similar to BRatigan's except I added dual exits.

My DAD helping out.

I like it Chance, I will switch mine at the end of the season and do a double exit, has a muscle car hint at idle.
