Who's wearing one and how do you like it. I'm shopping again for one and need info. I've tried a full face and its to uncomfortable with my glasses. I really want to get out of that 3/4 I'm wearing.

I have a shoei multitec and love it. It's super comfortable and is pretty quiet. I wear glasses as well and it doesn't pinch too much on my temples.

I shy away from modular helmets only because they're always very weak in the chin section. The first thing to pop off on impact is the whole face of the helmet, and then you're effectively grinding on the asphalt with a 3/4 helmet.

They seem really nice until you have to eat shit with one. I've had a few friends break jaws and scrape off the majority of their face with Multitecs and other high-end modulars.

The shoei Multitek is going to be one of the best modular helmets.

If you decide on one I have a few white or black ones I'll sell cheap.

[up] on the Multitek, but the only reason I'm running that is because nothing else would fit correctly on my bowling-ball like head.

But I'm with theoctopus on this one, I kind of wonder how well they would hold up in a wreck.

I used to have an hjc sy-max. It was ok but definitely a little louder than it needed to be and the chin did feel a little cheaper than other helmets. It was pretty nice since I have glasses, not to mention the ability to flip it up when someone feels the need to talk to you even though you have a helmet on, but still.

Either way I gave it away to the guy who bought my last bike and I doubt I'll get a new one. Drop down tinted visor is my new favorite features! [up] Also great for people with glasses because we don't have the option to toss a cheap pair of sunglasses under our seats.

I've had two of the Harley KBC modulars, crash tested both of them, both did fine. I'm currently looking at the Scorpion EXO900 as my next modular.

Big fan of the Multitec. I owned both of Shoei's previous modulars, and this one is a huge leap nicer. More comfortable, chinbar more secure, MUCH quieter. I'd say without hesitation that it's as quiet as the Arai RR I have and almost as quiet as an RF1000. I can't compare it to the RF1100. It's pricey, but completely worth it, IMO.

I have a Hawk Modular, cheap $109, 3/4 rated DOT approved, as are all modulars, and has the drop down shades, I wear glasses also and have no problems, kind of noisy, tho, I wouldn't recommend it for track days, but for general duty, did I mention it was cheap, you could try it and see if you like it

If you can find them the KBC FFR Modular is one I like.
Its the one Harley used like firefighter1c57 said.

Its got 2 metal cams that lift the chin bar, and is rideable with it up. [up]
Well at street speeds that is, for around town.
I wouldn't do it on the highway.

But I don't believe they are being made anymore, so if you do find one, it might be on clearance.

I just bought a Zoan (Spain) it's DOT and ECE approved. Not super duper quite (What is with a Hawk muffler) but I love it. It has a flip down dark visor and was less than $150. I too wear glasses and with my Shoei they get all squished to my face.

I ride with the KBC modular and have glasses too, works good and has metal latches not plastic. But is on the heavy side and took some getting used to.

I went with the IS-Max as well. Enjoy the visor and the ability to flip it at a light or even casual riding, but it is noisy on the highway. Wouldn't mind something a little quieter in my next lid.

Motorcyclegear.com (used to be newenough.com) has some killer deals on the HJC.
