Looking into new levers for my 03 xb9r since one of the eyelets on the brake lever cracked. Saw these levers. Anybody tried them? Seems really cheap...

I'm one of the people whose front caliper locked up from fitment issues with cheap Chinese levers.

They installed perfectly and I drove for probably 20 minutes without any issue. I was riding in the left lane of a four lane local (40mph) street when my front wheel locked up and I was literally immobile within 10 seconds. Made it into the intersection where I stood for 10 minutes until I could drag the bike (front wheel locked) into a commercial driveway thanks to a good break in traffic.

Supplier said they must have shipped 09 levers instead of 08 levers and they sent me new units. I'll never put them on my bike.....ever. Scares me to think what would have happened on the highway. I went up to CRG's on the 1125 and back to stock on the xb. You can do a search for similar stories, but on two wheels, you just CANNOT take chances on cheap/inferior parts.

All you have to do is compare the stock lever to they new one, then do a little filing as needed.

My "cheap Chinese" brake lever needed a tiny bit of filing to get it to match the stock lever. ~10,000 miles without an issue.

We sell and use ASV levers! They're quite a bit more expensive than these but are high quality all around. Let us know if you want a set.

I just bought some Chinese levers from eBay for 25... More than 100 miles on them. Can't beat them for the price. Look and feel great, everything matched right up and fit great. I've always bought Chinese levers for my bikes and have never had a problem with them. If you have the money for ASV's get them, if you don't or just don't want to spend that much, there's nothing wrong with Chinese levers
