Everyone, I haven't been working with my Buell over the winter even though I have about 4 things left that I want to do on it. Instead I've been working on another project that had been sitting on my garage for over a year.

This project is called a Motoped. It marries components from downhill bikes and pit bikes to make a motorized bicycle. Here is the Build Thread. I've mounted a fully automatic 125cc motor and will install an EFI kit on it. Here's some pictures of how it is currently configured. All of the parts are laid out they were designed. It's the standard layout for this kit.

After being fully immersed in the Buell community for some time, I've found myself wanting to Buellize everything. This project is no exception. Here's some photos of my attempt at mass centralizing this build.

I'm now conflicted. I'm not sure which version I think looks better. So I'm opening this up for your opinions. Do you like the Standard or Buellized version better. Thanks for your help!

That kicks ass!! I like them both, I'd prefer the longer seat though. Nice work[up]

Very sick design! I really like the simple look even though there's obviously a LOT of engineering in it. Wha cha gonna call it?

You asked for ideas, here ya go:D
How much does the whole thing weigh? Would a hopped up 80cc be any lighter? Can you mount it lower for a lower CG? A 125cc seems like overkill (awesomeness:p) I'm worried about the wheel strength and tiny contact patch of the tires. Man that would be fuuuunn on a dirt track!
The longer seat makes more sense for off-road, even longer than it is now for downhill stuff. You don't want to fall off the back and get impaled by the taillight!
The ergo calculator is a good start, but action stills of people (doing what your designing it for) may help a bunch, i.e. see where the rider keeps their CG when jumping, turning, etc.
My initial thought was a LOT lower? I'd need to see someone on it though… Is the foot crank CL the same as a high end suspended mountain bike? Seat? Bars?
You could copy the placement of a successful design (if you haven't already?) and use their R&D $$ to your advantage.
Very, VERY cool! I'll beta test that all freakin' day!

Thanks for the replies. It's not my invention. The whole thing starts with buying a chassis as a kit. Then you source the components to complete it. I've just gotten the majority of my parts together and installed. The seat height is about 36". Here's a video on someone riding one.
