Does anyone know if there is an on-board camera system for motorcycles?

I have a couple Bulls-I units in our cars, but I'd like to get something for the bike as well.

I like the Bulls-I in the cars because its completely maintenance free. the video laps itself when its full, its wired to the cars ignition so no batteries.

So I'd like to see if there is something similar for the scooter.
Of course it'd have to be waterproof and run off a 12v power source.

Anyone seen anything that fits the bill? My Google searches come up empty with what I'm looking for.
(Basically a go-pro that the video laps itself in and has a 12v power source that is waterproof)

Thanks

Placed behind the windshield of a 12r may work pretty well and should be fairly protected from the water there as well.

Want something I can wire to the bikes electrical system, no batteries to swap out or fool with.

Start the bike, cameras turn on, shut off the bike they shut off.
And the go-pro won't overlap memory will it?

I saw one a bit ago - had a front & rear view camera system, operated off of 12vdc too. Trying to find the link for you.

Thought of getting it myself, either for the bike or car. I'll post the link once I find it...

If it turns off in the event of a crash, what good is it or whats the purpose?

The one I saw records while the bike is on or at least when there is power applied to the unit. Depending on the size of the SD card, you would either record hours of video or if you have a smaller card, it would just record over the start of the video. Helpful in the event of a crash/near crash - you would have evidence. Hopefully in your favor.

Hey Rah7.. I like that Bulls-I unit alot, just wish it had an external mic. port so a guy could narrate(V-log) effectively on a bike without all the wind noise..

I'll check out the above.

The bulls-I unit wouldn't do good on a bike , it's not weatherproof at all.

But the units I have in the front of our vehicles picks up audio really well (2200 model)
I have 2000 model for the rear and the audio on those stinks though)

If I were to buy again, id get the 2200 for the rear as well.

this is really great info,. I have been ticket free for a long time, but i have a long history of tickets and found it was difficult to prevail in court when it was my word against the cops. in most cases i could have won with this recorder as while i AM often guilty of speeding, in each of my tickets the officers lied or made a lot of errors.
My wife asked if i had thought of the camera PROVING me guilty as I often do speed, Im not worried about that,. Im worried about any accident or tickets where I need proof.
Keep in Mind, check your laws in your area very carefully about recording OTHER people, theres a LOT of conflicting infor out there. Often event eh police dont know the laws and will give you bad info, or tell you to stop recording.
In a public setting you DO NOT need to notify or receive permission,(or even telephone calls) however in a traffic stop situ, you MUST make a declaration of some sort. In most cases you DO NOT have to have permission, you ONLY have to notify the other parties that they are being recorded. I have a lot of experience in this while working for a govt agency, my own employer would often lie about the law. Do your research, tech is evolving, the laws have yet to catch up.
I would rather have the evidence and face charges or an angry cop than i would to take my chances without it.
I have been down this road, thanks for posting this, I want these units for my vehicles.

The cops don't tell you they're recording, I won't tell them I am either.

But that's not the reason I bought them, I've never had any real issues with cops fudging anything up. In fact most cops are just regular guys and gals making a living.
( I work directly with officers daily so I get to see the normal side )

Main reason was for solid evidence during an accident or such. What kick started it was that whole motorcycle group VS that range rover last year.

When I heard about it, I thought good that range rover got what he deserved , but when I watched the video that opinion changed and I wished he'd ran over some more of those d-bags.

So having your own video could really be beneficial IF anything crazy like that happens or say a hit and run or someone lies at the accident scene.

Now I just need the same for the scooter.

If you fail to provide proper notification of recording, it may prove problematic trying to use the recording later.

In Oregon its actually REALLY simple,, out in public no one has the right to privacy, including the police, upheld over and over by the Oregon Supreme court, but many police DO get their panties in a twist about being recorded, its surprising also the average citizen as well, a lot of misinformation out there.

You dont need anyones permission, but IF there was an expectation of privacy and you fail to notify you can and will be arrested and or prosecuted. If someone objects or refuses, its on THEM to walk away or terminate the contact. I have for a number of years used recordings while employed by a govt agency.

BOLI, EEOC, Justice department and many others including HR trainers are now telling employers to NEVER say or do anything you will later regret if a recording was made. It is no longer so much the issue of how the recording was made, but that with the average person carrying up to 3 devices capable of recording, you might as well expect that you CAN and will be recorded. The EEOC openly states they dont care if a recording was legal or not, they will use it in the course of an investigation. So be careful about telling jokes in the workplace right?
The point is, its not hard to do it right, and its better to be legal and have the recording be of use in a accident or incident than it is to have captured something on tape and people refuse to look at it because they feel it was illegal.
More relevant here is its just hard for someone to deny something happened when you have it on tape.
