There was a serious accident this past weekend involving a few San Antonio riders and a drunk driver in Austin.
Here is the memorial info if anyone would like to come.
Hello Moto Liberty friends,
This Saturday, April 11th, from Noon-4pm, we will be hosting a benefit event for riders involved in a tragic incident over the weekend in Austin. Many of you have probably heard about the incident since it has been the topic of much discussion on several web forums. The short version is that several local riders who were up in Austin Saturday night were hit by a drunk driver who swerved into oncoming traffic. 36-year-old Maurice Britt was killed, his wife is in very serious condition in the hospital, and another rider is still in critical condition with severe injuries, including an amputated leg. The drunk driver attempted to flee the scene but was eventually apprehended and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. If you would like to read the story, it can be found here:

This is just about every rider’s worst nightmare. But it is also our chance to show that motorcyclists share a real bond of brother/sisterhood and support each other during even our most trying times.
So, this Saturday afternoon, we would like everyone to come out to show solidarity with our fellow riders, honor Maurice’s memory, and hopefully raise a little money to help out the injured riders in the long recovery process that awaits. The event is being put on by Cycles In Action (CIA), the club to which the injured riders belonged, with cooperation from a couple of other local clubs who have all been good friends of us here at Moto Liberty, so we are honored to help host. There will be food, music, auction items, and a short memorial ride for those who wish to participate. Don’t worry, it won’t be entirely somber and sad. I doubt any of us would want that if we were to pass. Instead, think of it as a chance to show that the motorcycling community can come together to do good. We can enjoy fellowship with other riders while respectfully remembering and charitably supporting.
And please help us get the word out. If you are a member of any web forums or riding groups, PLEASE POST THIS MESSAGE. More details to come as everything gets planned out…
Come out Saturday afternoon to Moto Liberty San Antonio, rain or shine, ready to hang out and help out. Thanks, and be safe out there
