how many miles does she have on her? if she's fairly low in miles ya until she gets broken in she'll eat some fuel

i have an 08 w/ 6k. i am getting around 40 have seen 50 though. all depends on the type of riding that you are doing also.

I have 7,200 miles on my bike. I usually do highway riding (I use my bike to commute back and forth to work) and usually cruise between 75-80 mph.

I just broke 8K on my 12R and I get around 50 mpg cruising at those speeds. When I am being a jerk on it I have gotten as low at 38 mpg. i don't calc every fill up, and I have an 04, but 33 mpg sounds a bit low. what have you been pumoing? I hit mine with 93.

Yeah lest time i calced it i had 51 mpg HW speeds around 80-85 mostly. Seems low.

i would say that 51 is damn good considering that you are probably around 4500 rpm.

Bueller25 - How tall are you and what's your typical riding posture? I'm pretty tall and have found that I can see as much as an 8-10MPG difference based on how I'm sitting.

sometimes I ride almost laying down, sometimes I ride just sitting up. So I need to stay low, I'll get 10mpg better? maybe.[confused]

On my 04 xb12r with 3,000 miles I can get 50 to 55 mpg depending on how agressive I ride. I have noticed that riding posture makes a difference in rpms when at interstate speeds.

Getting 50 mpg with a combination of high speed highway riding & "stop & go" commuting. I'm real happy with this gas mileage.

50 sounds about right (stock). Once you guys start doing some of the mods (I would believe these are stock figures) on your bike, you'll start getting a little less than that.

I get around 130-140 MPFill-up without tapping into the reserve (I believe). And I have quite a few mods such as, Buell Race Kit, Airbox delete, open airbox, re-routed hoses, and TFI (dobeck).

I run 91 Premium Unleaded

So by the sounds of it, you guys get way more MPG than what I'm getting. Seems like you guys would be getting at least 10-15 more MPG on HWY than what I'm getting.

Possibly because I ride pretty aggressively (sometimes) being the jerk on the road.

Does
Does it matter if you you have the breather hose re-route?

Not sure exactly what you mean. If we're talking about, is it better for your bike. Well in my opinion as well as many others, I'd have to say YES.

On a recent 614 mile trip I got average 53 mpg.Rt1 SF. to SD.

Whoa how many times did you stop? I know that's the scenenic route, but geesh. A buddy of mine rode from from SF to LA and he complained how much of a drag that was for him. I'm not quite sure I'd be up for it, but hey call me VA-gina [smirk]
