I have been told these bikes have an ECM that "learns". I have an 07 XB12S and if I do a home made mufler where I gut pretty much everything inside it will it mess up the air fuel settings? Or, will it learn and adjust to run right?

Some get away with just doing a Learn-in ride and reset TPS, but some it's the exact opposite.

If you're completely gutting it, I'd guess you'd need a Race ECM at the least to keep from hurting your bike.

Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna go with Hawk now. I just don't want to risk hurting her. lol

I have the same bike with a VooDoo exhaust and a K&N air filter you may be able to "get away" with a learn in ride. I would strongly suggest getting set up with ECM Spy and tuning your bike to match your mods, it makes a huge difference. ;)

I know that Randy (Hawk) has a 2007 race map that he would give you. That's probably a safe way to go short of a full dyno tune.

This site is just amazing. I'm so excited for this bike. lol Im getting ecm spy set up, gonna learn all I can bout using it before I plug it in the bike and 50dro, u say he has a map, does that mean i need to use ecmspy to put the map in the ecm or is it a deal where i send the ecm itself to him too? I havent contacted him yet. Want to wait till the snow flies and I cant ride.

Either way, he can hook you up. He can send the files to you or I've known him to flash ECMs for people.
