So I finally ordered the satin black paint and satin clear coat to make my Buell "Murdered Out" if anyone has any advice about painting a satin coat it is more than welcome

The most important thing is going to be painting in a clean environment, and tacking off your basecoat between coats. the cleaner you can keep your paint the better, because you can't wetsand and buff matte or satin clear, because that will make is glossy. If you need any other advice, post it here, and I'll try to keep an eye on it. Here are afew pics of my bike, so you know I know what I'm doing.

dont forget to let the paint cure longer than normal before you handle it I would actually recomend after the "bake" time and before you put the plastics on the bike let them sit in the sun for a while. the satin clear stays soft (like any clear) for a long time but the difference is you cant buff out any fine scratches like you can with gloss clear... I have my 06 zx-10 painted this color I will post some pics when I get home.

Its not a buell but I just finished it like 7 days ago.I did it in the garage just make shure its over 75 degrees before you paint if your not using a booth if you have any specific questions just post I will get back to you.The reason I did it in the garage is the boss was being a prick about using the booth at work..[mad] greedy @$$.It would of looked tits if I would of done it there but....

Murdered out? That would be flat black, not satin, or semi gloss. It would look pretty cool though.

The satin on the 10 is a base coat clear coat with a additive that flattens the gloss out of the clear... you can adjust the level of flatness by how much additive you use. I went more satin, but the same paint can be sprayed very flat and looks good that way on the test pice. The conditions I mentioned before still hold true even when you spray it way flat.

i was thinkin about flat blackin my mustang but im not shure, i really love the high gloss black tho. i think flat black only works on certain cars/bikes.

I will look up the paint numbers and the ratio when i get home I have it written down... Will post it later today.
