From Eriks face book
Chris Lawson Hello Erik! This is my first Buell and I love it! Thanks for a great bike. I do have a question for you. I have an 1125R and there is some debate in regards to removing the upper air box lid. I just wanted to ask the source himself if this is a modification that is worthwhile or if its a waste of time. Erik Buell This actually hurts power on the road. In a static dyno room without road speed air flowing into the ram air you may see a false power increase with the cover off, but on the road you lose the ram air, and in fact get turbulence around the throttle bodies that takes power away.

Might want to decide on an exhaust now and get the tuned ecm for it. :)

Want to trade rear springs?
I got a 2009 Red one.
I wish i didn't have the flat wheels there a bitch to clean

annnd not to completely hijack the thread lmao twin velocity stacks would do a far better job and hacking or removing parts in the air box. i know theres a thread on here about the 1125 stacks, people on other forems make them, im not that crafty, but willing to buy. they have positive gain on the dyno i just wish EBR would do something like this...

RT beat me to the answer! I will be stopping by Buell's shop tomorrow for my ECU upgrade and going outside right now to re-install my air box lid. :D

Cronce their is a company that does the stacks.

They have been around for years and come highly recommended by many. If wish I could have came up with the funds to do his pipe and tune. He is claiming something like 161 rwhp, which would be crazy fun!

161 from a vtwin gets mad respect on the streets, wheelie machine from hell. thanks red youre the bomb [up]

the stacks for the 1125r/cr will be a winter mod. after the pipe. they look like they add a nice jump in the mid range, but for $130... we will see lol
