so im looking to buy my first buell
however, i of course want something they dont make stock
i want a lightning front, but i want the rear part from a firebolt

my question is, would it be easier and/or cheaper to buy a firebolt and swap the front to lightning parts... or vice versa? any thoughts?

also to anyone that may know, how much of a diff does the ceramic coating vs the wrap make in temps? and can you get the ceramic matte finished (either right off the bat, or afterward?)

thanks in advance for any help :)

(also, i wanna keep the firebolt handlebars. and figured this was the best place to ask, if its the wrong place, sorry :) )

First off welcome and here is a link that LeFox made up for New Buellers, a must if your new to the bike.

New Buellers

I have a Firebolt with the Lightning tail and if you want a the Lightning with the Firebolt tail definitly buy a lightning and swap someone one off the forum tail for tail.

If you want to swap fronts the firebolt has the fuses, relays, and ecm, all under the front which need to have wires stretched to tuck under the seat. But if you get a Lightning all of this is already in the tail so you just need to tidy up the under tail to fit everything rather than cut and stretch close to 30 wires like I originally did to my bike.

As far as the handle bars that is something you would have to do after the tail swap but still a bar swap and tail swap would be much easier than the front swap of a firebolt to lightning.

ahh
didnt know bout the wire issue
